We started
with visiting Regina’s family. It was a
time of encouragement to spend with them as founding members of the church here
in Juayua. Next, Dwaine and I went to
Salcoatitan with Carlos to try to visit some of the campaign contacts. I was with Joanna, Mischael, James and Leanna
when we visited with Roxane, a teacher in Juayua and her neighbor,
Edgardo. Both were home, so we were able
to have a good visit. Roxane’s son was
also home. Roxane goes to the Church of
God, but her 23 year old son does not attend anywhere. We visited for over 30 minutes and she said
we could come back again. Next Edgardo
was not home, but his wife was home. She
was busy because they were putting up a canopy for a time of prayer for the
afternoon. Her family also goes to the church
of God. We did learn that her husband
suffers from Leukemia. While we didn’t
go in, she visited outside for over an hour as well. Carlos said he appreciated us going. He said that typically, they would not have
been open for a visit if it was just him.
He said having some Americans alongside helped open the door. In ways that is good and bad. We are thankful to have opportunities to
enter homes but we are sad that door is not open to all. We have to do what we can and let God open
those doors for all. After lunch, we
picked up Gisela and went to visit Carla.
The rain was coming down hard, but she was home and ready. We had decided to take Que Dice La Biblia to
study to have a guide. She is so sharp with
reading, making comments and reading the references. We thought she would be willing to read the
material to reinforce our studies afterwards as well. It was a lively study and we are prayerful
she can visit soon. She works in the
gastronomica in Juayua and that involves all weekend. For the evening, Cesar and Eliza hosted the
evening Bible study. There was a great
turnout of around 30. Some good news was
that Rolando and Blanca offered to host next week. They are also contacts from the campaign from
Greta Ashburn’s group. They regularly come to the Thursday night class and
Cesar is studying with them. Their
daughter, son-in-law and baby also joined the study. That wrapped up another day for us with many
blessings.
