Happy
Anniversary and Ladies Event. This day
is always greatly anticipated for me because it is a time of fun fellowship and
opportunities! Today was no
exception. It is a blessing. The morning was spent preparing and included
shopping for Monday’s dinner, children’s classes while we are gone and finally
for the afternoon event. We had 22
people with 8 visitors. For the visitors, Velma and Soili came. Seily and I study with them on Monday’s. They first came during the campaign. Another lady, Rut and her daughter Flor
came. They said they had been before,
but I only vaguely recognized them. She
is a teacher and lives alongside the lady where we usually buy bread. She is limited on time, but said we could
visit when we return in October. Claudia
Veronica also came with her daughter.
She is an ongoing study. So,
there were several more opportunities.
We had a visiting speaker, America de Batres. She is a friend of Eliza and traveled to
speak from San Salvador. Dwaine visited
with her husband, David during the event.
She spoke of self-esteem and did a good job of interaction with the group. It was a blessing to be with everyone. Afterwards Dwaine and I walked to Codeo for
an anniversary dinner…..38 years. It was
a small restaurant and we had never eaten there before. A group arrived that was from several
countries such as Wales, England and surrounding areas. Some had been traveling for 1 year and a half
to see Central America. It was funny
that on the way to the restaurant, we passed Socorro’s. While we were visiting, Don Santos also came
up on his bike. As we were talking about
anniversaries, he could not remember his anniversary date. We gave him a hard time about that! It was a blessing to have this time with a wonderful husband of 38 years!
