April 1, 2016

We started this morning by having a study with Jose, Kelly and their kids.  We had been studying with them originally on Saturday afternoons for a long time but that was always hit and miss and now we have the ladies events on the first and third Saturday of each month so after talking with them we decided that Friday morning would work because Nicole has school in the afternoons and while Kiki does have morning classes he does not begin until 10 on Fridays.  So I ran up and picked them up at 8:15 and they were ready to go when I arrived.  We started the study at 8:30 and finished at 9:30.  I had prepared a study to begin on marriage and family relations but Cesar had given them a booklet for new Christians called “Your First Forty Days” and they said they would like to study that together and discuss it.  Since they had only one copy I told them I would make copies for everyone and we would begin that next week so we went ahead with the introductory study I had already prepared.  When we finished Kiki had to go to class and Jose had a meeting with someone but Kelly and Nicole stayed and then rode back to their house with us at 10 because we had set that time to study with Cecelia.  She was home and waiting for us.  She said her daughter, Teresa, who had recently lost her job and was having some health problems was better but was resting.  We began the first session in the Bible study film series we have been using here.  It is basic to us but to them it is always very beautiful as they say and because it is in Spanish we know they understand it well.  This one just began with the creation and went through the flood.  She said it was great.  After lunch Charlotte headed out to go to some studies with Sister Seyli and I took advantage of the afternoon at home to wash Wicket and cut her hair.  A few people had mentioned she was looking neglected and I could not permit that.  It is always an ordeal for her because the whole process takes a couple of hours but she always looks so much better afterwards.  From Charlotte, we first went to Alba’s.  Alba and her daughter love to study the Word, but they have a strong connection with an evangelical church.  After studying for many months, we are going to focus on the true church. They also love activities and she said that she would attend the Ladies event on Saturday.  Be prayerful that she has an open heart.  Secondly, we had set up a study with Briseida, but when we arrived, she was out.  About 4 Charlotte came back and Cesar came over to help me move a large French door refrigerator that belonged to our landlords from their house over to ours.  It was the one they had in this house before we moved in and they had offered it to us but at the time we did not think we needed it along with the one we already had which matched our stove but then Charlotte decided to have breakfast in our home each morning for the Central group when they come so she wanted to start making some things in advance and freezing them.  They were not using this refrigerator because they had another nicer one already in the house from the lady's sister who had died and we actually had to clean up the mold some because they had not had it plugged in since they moved.  They were glad for us to have it at no extra cost as long as we live here.  It was very heavy and I got soaked with sweat in the process of moving it but we finally got it and had a good spot in our bedroom which is out of eye sight but convenient.  After all that we had dinner and skyped and rested till bed time.  That is Dwaine’s line.  The night before Ladies’ events is always a challenge.  We had chosen banana splits, so there was not a lot of cooking, but the craft was making a sachet bag for sewing and filling with an aromatic stuffing.  Each bag had to be cut and sewed to be ready to fill.  That took til 2:30 in the morning for another short night.

Grab the camera, another parade passing by...
