April 8, 2016

Walk About. Dwaine took the car to the preacher’s meeting and I had a couple of studies planned for the day.  Suleyma came by at 8:45 to walk with me to the church area.  She had planned to take Danielito to Regina so Lisbeth could watch him during the study.  When she arrived, she said she had had muscle spasms during the night so strong, that she had to call a doctor to come to her home at 11 p.m. and give her three injections.  She walks to Regina’s every day, maybe a little over a mile, carrying Danielito.  He is about 25 pounds in weight.  This is really difficult for her.  If she had walked to Regina’s I would have been on the route of her return.  However, instead, Lisbeth walked to her home.  Suleyma still walked down for me while I could have easily walked to her home alone.  What a round.  My additional expectation was that our study would not be available.  We had set up a time with Floramarina and her daughter, Claudia, at 9ish.  Since Floramarina had to go the hospital, I thought she might not feel well.  In fact, when we arrived, Floramarina had to go again to Ahuachapán for treatment and Claudia had to go to the morning shift at school.  I still had several visits in mind, so we headed to Alba’s.  I had a 2 p.m. study scheduled with her.  Seyli was not going to be able to study because her grandmother, aunt and uncle were coming for a visit.  I wanted to see if she might go ahead and study so I wouldn’t have to walk back up in the afternoon.  However, she had wanted to invite Linda to come and talk about some birthday ideas for her daughters for November and December.  While that would work for me, I felt bad that I couldn’t go by and pick up Linda.  She would have to take the bus from Salcoatitan with her two daughters.  But, we settled on 2 for a study and visit.  That still left Suleyma and me with a little time.  Therefore we headed to Evelia’s home.  Evelia cooks pupusas near the church building.  When we came back from the States, we had visited her and she had a migraine.  I thought she must still be sick since she wasn’t working.  In fact, she was much worse.  It was such a blessing that Suleyma was with me because she is a nurse.  Evelia had a lot of nausea and was very weak.  She had lab orders for some exams, but they were with a private lab, where they might have to pay up to $35 and this was impossible for them.  Suleyma determined that some of her nausea might be caused by some meds she was taking.  Then, she offered to try to get the lab orders changed over to the national doctors where she could get them done for free.  It was a longshot.  Flor and Tatiana also joined us in the visit.  We had a prayer and then Suleyma needed to go to the doctor about her health.  I walked back home for lunch and rest before going to Alba’s.  I also wanted to stop by for a visit with Seyli to meet her family.  I left just a few minutes after 1.  On my way, a lady on the sidewalk, stopped me to talk.  She recognized me from studying with her daughter.  She had many needs and we talked for several minutes.  In the end, she took me down the alleyway to show me her home that I might stop by and visit with her in the future.  Pray for her difficulties.  I walked on to Seyli’s and now did not have long to visit.  I did get to meet all of her family before her grandmother wanted to rest some.  I got to Alba just at 2.  Linda was uncertain where Alba lived, so I was on the lookout for her.  She arrived after about 10 minutes.  We visited a long time and Linda offered to help with some of the ideas that Alba had.  We also had out study, and Linda joined in and helped.  During our visit, Dwaine tapped on the door.  He had gotten back and said he would walk home and leave me the car.  This way, I could take Linda home so she wouldn’t have to take the bus.  I got home about 5ish.  Dwaine told me about the preacher’s meeting and I shared about my day.  I spent the evening preparing for the teacher’s seminar.  It is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, so I am getting close on time.
