Sweet Hour of Payer. For
me, the majority of this day was spent preparing for the teacher’s seminar
scheduled for Sunday afternoon in Santa Ana. I also wanted to take some
food lessons, so I also used some of my time preparing some themed
treats. The day passed too quickly. Dwaine left about 2:20 for a dinner
at Hector and Rachel’s as they had many gathered to share growth in the area
for some visiting elders from Signal Mountain and Matt Bender from
Huntsville. A little before 4, I walked over to Cesar and Eliza’s to ride
to Regina’s. Suleyma had requested to have a prayer of thanksgiving for
Danielito’s health. Through the last several months he has had chikungunya,
Dengue fever and ongoing stomach issues. God has been gracious to help
him and his family through each issue. Cesar and Mario led the service
and it was a blessing to everyone’s complete dependency of God’s grace and
guidance. I returned home for more preparation and Dwaine also got home
soon after me. Thankfully, he helped me pull together many of the items I was
preparing.
(Dwaine) Last Thursday morning when I
was walking Wicket I ran into Nelson and his family. I had not seen him in quite a while. We talked a little and I asked if he would
like to get together for another study and he said yes. The only time we could find was Saturday
morning so this morning he came over about 9.
Our last study was on what the Bible teaches about baptism as opposed to
what he had gone through in the prophecy church he was attending. We studied about Jon the Baptist and how
important his baptism was during the time it was in effect but that when Paul
ran across 12 men who had only been baptized in the baptism of John he re-baptized
them. I told him a person can only obey
what they know but the real question is when they learn new truth what do they
do with it. I was pretty strong with
him, I told him that since we had not studied for so long and might not again I
really wanted him to know what the Bible teaches. He said he would try to come Sunday and
thanked me for the study. About 2:20 I
headed out to pick up Carlos and family on my way to a meeting in Hector's
house in Apaneca. Matt Bender and two
men from Signal Mountain were here for the weekend and wanted to have a meal
and report time with us. It was really
good, Hector had asked 5 brothers from Ataco to come and report on the work
going on there, then Carlos gave a good power point presentation about the work
in Salcoatitan and after him I added some comments about the work here in
Juayua. Osvaldo rounded out the meeting
with a report about the work in Ahuachapan.
I was surprised to learn that the building they had been using and that
Charlotte and I had visited had been sold by the owner and they had moved to
another building on the main street in town.
He said that property was very expensive in the down town area of
Ahuachapan so they could only rent but that they had been in that area for 11
years and no other churches were in that area and they did not want to
move. After the reports we had homemade
pizza for dinner and after dropping Carlos and family off I got home about 7.
