April 3, 2016

We had told Sister Ana we would pick her up for morning services here in Juayua.  We never know how many people she will have going with her.  This time there were three daughters and two kids.  They were pretty packed in but that is normal for here.  Charlotte sat in the middle on the brake and one of the daughters and one child sat beside her.  We had a good number at the services and Rafael came for the first time since we had found out that he was a brother from long ago.  Before the Lord's Supper he was asked to come to the front for a special prayer since he had not been attending for a long time.  Bro. Juan Carlos Santa Maria (Charlie) from Santa Ana was visiting and he led the communion service and I did the serving.  It was neat getting to serve Jose and Kelly for the first time for me since it was our first Sunday back since their baptisms and also Rafael so we have more brothers and sisters but few visitors now.  We did have a good turn out and the room was full.  It is still amazing to me that we have so many coming now after only about a year of working here.  After service we had two CoCo Cola cakes that Charlotte had cooked to celebrate the birthdays for the months of April, May and June.  We had several people who were having birthdays in those months including Jose.  After we finished there were quite a lot of cake crumbs on the floor from the kids eating and ants are terrible here if there is any food on the floor so I cleaned up and mopped some while Charlotte ran Ana's family home and then came back for me.  We did not end up having anyone for lunch so we ran by Selectos and then had a small lunch of soup and rested some.  About 3 Arnoldo arrived to ride with us to the 4:00 service in Salcoatitan.  Sister Ana and several from her family wanted to go also so we had a car full again with Charlotte in the middle again but at least it is a short trip.  They did not have many people at first so they started about 10 minutes late and it was also very hot.  But it went well and they eventually had a pretty good number.  After the service there was a presentation of Baptism certificates for the young man and lady who had been baptized while we were in the States.  It was a very nice ceremony.  As we were dropping Sister Ana and her family off I got a call from Carlos that another young man wanted to be baptized but the water was not working in Salcoatitan.  We got home as soon as we could and got our small pool out and started filling it.  About 20 minutes later Ricardo and Yoli and Linda and kids arrived then soon after Carlos arrived with the young man and his mother.  The other young man who had been baptized already and was friends with this young man arrived on a bicycle.  The baptism went great after we got the pool full and pretty soon after everyone headed out.  We had had a more exciting day than we had expected.
