Juayua. We leave out for Juayua about 9:30ish on
Wednesday and we are always cooking, cleaning, preparing and rushing from the moment
we get up to departure. This was no
exception. We got off about 9:40 and
when we arrived, Cesar said he had a new contact that he wanted to visit
first. We headed across town and the
lady was home, but something had come up and she was unable to study this
week. Next, we went to Mr. Rivas, but
his family said that he would be out until Saturday. Next, we studied with Julia. She had lots of comments and a few questions,
so it was a good study. She said she
would try to come to the service at 5. I
had cooked a big pot to soup earlier in the week, so I took some to share with
Cesar and Eliza for lunch. We rested a
few minutes and then headed out to the Mayor’s office. We wanted to get information on marriage for
Kelly and José so they could make their plans.
The costs was reasonable and they said they could do the ceremony anywhere
in town for just a little more. We
wanted to take this by Kelly and José’s so we went in that direction. At first, only José was home. He looked the information over and said it should
be easy to accomplish. Then, Kelly
arrived and she was happy with our finds as well. She had been sewing uniforms for girls for
activities on Independence Day, 15th of September. The girls arrived and each one had to try on
their outfits for alterations. Two let
me take their picture, but they weren’t too excited about it. They were busy for the evening, so would not
be able to come. Next, we went to Omar,
Gisela’s and Emile’s. We do about half the time studying English and about half
the time doing a Bible study. It is nice
to have the large group. Dwaine studies
with Omar and I work with the girls. Last
for the day was the service. Julie did
not come, but Nelson and his daughter came.
Also, our visitor, Ana came with her daughter. It was a full day. It seems strange to be working to turn all
the studies and activities over for a month.
There is much to wrap up.
Sleeping while riding on the back of a truck.
This is the direct method for reheating a tortilla!
Sister Ana has a new bunny. I wouldn't call it a pet,
since it will be dinner one day.
