Missed connection but not the big one. Charlotte got up at 3:45 and Clifton and I
got up at 4 and we got off right at 5:00.
The great thing about leaving early was that there was almost no
traffic. We got all the way to the
airport by 7:00 which is well past San Salvador. Clifton went in the door for passengers and
Charlotte waited in front of the entrance while I went to park. The parking lot was jammed and I was directed
to the back and had to walk a long distance.
When I got back to Charlotte we went up the stairs to wait for Clifton
to come up after his check in. After
about 20 minutes we began to wonder.
First, I looked around up stairs for him and then Charlotte went down
the steps to see if she could see him.
After about 15 more minutes I went down and asked at the American Desk
and they said he was back at the gate waiting to board. We left and went on to Wal Mart. We got a skype message from Clifton that when
he checked in the lady told him he needed to be back at the gate by 7:15 so we
must have just missed him when we got in.
Fortunately, he said the breakfast that was served on the plane was
pretty good. We were a little disappointed that we did not get to say goodbye
to him but at least we will be seeing him at my brother's in south Alabama on
the last weekend of August. We got home about noon even after Walmart and going
through the drive through at McDonalds. After
lunch we had time for a good rest and then we went to Natividad and Charlotte
led a study with her on covenants. At
least we have heard from Clifton throughout the day and he is now home and
well. On our way back from Natividad I
got pulled over for a traffic check.
That was the third one in a week.
We told the policeman that they are doing a great job on that score at
least. Speaking of traffic stops we came
to one point on our way to the airport where the road was completely blocked on
one side by cones and policemen. I did
not know what I was supposed to do so I asked the officer and he said that I
had to go over to the other side and go slow because there was a wreck
ahead. We soon came upon an 18 wheeler
completely on its side and blocking the side we had been on. When we came back that way on our way home it
was still there. Probably will be a real
challenge to get that one moved.
Heading out for the Airport
Sun is coming.
Truck on its side along the way.
How is this for wiring?
McDonald's delivery!
Another wreck along the way.
