Feeling better!!! Clifton got
up this morning with the really good news that he was feeling lots better. We sure were thankful since this is his last
few days here. After having breakfast he
decided to go with us to Juayua for a study with Mario and Sara. During the study Mario said two Mormons had
come by and after talking with them he asked them not to come back. He said he could see the difference in how we
spoke about the Bible and how they taught.
That was really encouraging. He
said he was having quite a lot of pain with his leg so keep him in your
prayers. They are a sweet young family
and we pray they will be part of our Lord's family here someday. I, Charlotte,
could see the kids outside playing while we had the study. Their play brought some reflection. Children will tend to role play what they see
and hear in their lives. I have had
people tell me their children will role play baptizing each other. Wow, that’s great! When Leanna was young, she often role played
being a librarian as we went so often. I
remember in my own life role playing teaching very often. So, what were the kids doing? One would put hands on the wall. One would frisk. The last would handcuff the criminal. What a strong statement about a country in
crisis. Police are everywhere and the
news is focused on gangs. Even the young
are feeling the realities of the violence here. We still did not have
everything we needed for having Carlos and Linda over for dinner so we went
back to Selectos. Charlotte said she was
sure getting tired of having to go there so often. I said at least she knew where every single
item was in the entire store. After lunch
we went over to visit a while with Nestor and his grandparents. He was all smiles as always. His grandmother said he has an appointment
tomorrow and another one next week as a follow-up after his surgery. Keep him in your prayers. He is eleven.
Then we came home and finished getting ready for dinner. About 6:30 Carlos and Linda and their girls
arrived. We had a great visit and dinner
was fantastic as are all Charlotte's meals.
Carlos asked me if I ever cooked any and I told him that I thought he
was pretty smart until he asked that.
Why on earth would I ever try to cook since I am married to
Charlotte. We had to block Wicket off in
the garage for the evening because their daughter Karly is very afraid of
dogs. She whined some but
survived. We really enjoyed visiting
with them and also got to skype with Caleb and Della and Lucky. She and Carlos
and Linda are really good friends and this was her last night to be at Caleb
and Della's.
How is this for an ice cream flavor?
Condensed Milk with Figs!
