Last full day for Clifton so we filled
it. Wednesday are always long days. We left for Juayua at 9:30 and got gas on the
way because it had gone down recently and we wanted to be ready for Thursday
and taking Clifton to the airport. We
got to Cesar's about 10 and after a few minutes visiting we went on to Mr.
Rivas and had a study with him then on to study with Julia. She had dropped a brick on her foot and it
looked pretty bad but she was walking ok.
After the study we made an appointment to come back at 2 so she could go
with us to look at a house she knew about that was for rent. We went to lunch at the small cafe run by the
Italian chef who also worked nights at the restaurant our group had gone
to. The food was good but there is a big
celebration going on all week in El Salvador with schools out and lots of
people in all the towns, even Ataco. Anyway
the little restaurant was right beside the main area of crowds and celebration
complete with a lady singing in person very loudly. The food was good but there was no
possibility of conversation. After lunch
we went back by Cesar and Eliza's for a short rest then went to get Julia to go
look at the house. It turned out to be one
room that was to be rented for business space and was beside a car wash. Then we went to look at a new house that was
just down the street from Regina and Pedro's.
It was pretty nice but had only one bedroom and would not work for us
but Cesar and Eliza were interested in it because they also have to find a new
place by the end of September. Then we
went over to Sister Ana's. She was
having quite a lot of pain so we did not have a long study. Then Charlotte, Clifton and I went to study
with Omar and his sisters, Gisela and Emile. We decided
when we got there that we would just visit for a short time since they were
really busy from all the people being in town for the festivities. They gave us a frozen drink like a popsicle,
one was guava and the other was papaya, and they were sprinkled with hot chili
peppers and we were not able to handle them so we all got a laugh out of
that. Omar asked about the passage in
Isa. about 7 women clinging to one man.
This led to after talking about that passage to going to the passages
about elders being the husbands of one wife and not only to talking about God's
intended plan for marriage but also to teaching about the New Testament Church
and about an hour study. Then we went
over to see if Mr. Rivas and Julia could attend the 5:00 study. Mr. Rivas was ready but Julia decided to pass
because of her foot. We had a good study
and class and Charlotte had several students.
Nelson came and we reconfirmed our study time for Saturday. After the class I asked Cesar did he know how
to pass through Sonsonate to go to Santa Katrina and Mr. Rivas offered to go
with us to show us the way. We need to
go Saturday because Charlotte is doing a seminar for them on teaching
children's classes. The preacher there
is his uncle and Mr. Rivas said he had not seen his uncle in 30 yrs. Conveniently it is not far out of our way at
all to pick him up and a chance to talk more.
We had a good trip home and Clifton got packed to get ready for an early
departure. We had thought it was a
mid-day departure but Charlotte fortunately decided to check and his flight is
actually at 8:30 so we decided to try to leave at least by 5 am.
Pedrito (now going by Arnoldo) with beans growing in his backyard.
