Back to back to back to back…..there are just
not enough hours in the day. First,
Kelly, Jose, Nicole and Kiki came for a study.
That was a blessing to spend some time with them and encourage them in
their walk. As they were walking out,
Mario and Sara arrived to go by the mayor’s office to get their birth
certificates. They also got Carlito's
certificate so that Mario can adopt him once he and Sara are married. We had told Celia that we would be late for
her study and we arrived there about 11.
Terry sat in on most of the study, but then had to leave and go out for
tortillas. She had to go to work about 1
in Ataco, so we were close to lunch time.
Celia had her granddaughter visiting as well. She is 9 and had also visited our Bible study
on Thursday night. We went home for
lunch and a very short rest. I left a few minutes after 2 to go to Alba’s. When I arrived, Alba had taken her daughter
to the dentist. Her older daughter said
that she would walk with me to her sister’s, Angelia’s. We had a good study to introduce our need or
a Savior and Alba arrived at the end of the study. At the end, almost 5, it was rainy and she
loaned us some umbrellas. I was trying
to leave about 4:30, but at that time, she ran out to get some coffee and then
had to make it. So, we ran a little
late. We had some dinner guests coming
at 6:30, so I had to scramble a little when I got home. Dwaine had helped finalize some things, but
he said that he was beginning to wonder if I was coming home. We had Kayla and Oscar for dinner. Kayla is an American and recently moved here
and married Oscar. They met learning to
process coffee. They had moved next to
us when we lived near the church building just before we moved to town. They are making a move to open their own
coffee shop and are using all their resources to get this going. They said they are on a ‘budget’ to eat on $5
a day, more or less. They are doing some
build out in a little place that should seat around 20 to 25 people when they
open. We had not invited them to study,
but Dwaine went over the restoration plea.
Kayla said she was Catholic and was very private in her religion. However, Oscar was quite attentive, but few
comments. We will try to continue our friendship and hope over time we can make an impact on their lives. They both speak English, Kayla of course, so
it was a different sort of night. It was
a nice visit. They live next to Mario
and Seily, so we know they will continue to see the message on many
fronts. We also continued to work on our
paper connections in Honduras to have our papers complete. We are trying to have Bro. Larin sign papers
while Seily is there. We are
anticipating this to work out.
