There’s more.
We had a 9 a.m. appointment with immigration in San Salvador, so we left
at 7 a.m. to go. The traffic was
especially bad and we arrived at 9:05.
When we saw the immigration officer, they had a list of several things
we needed. However, in the end, she
narrowed it to two items. First was a
second copy of our bank records here. We
had obtained one and needed a second notarized by our lawyer. The second was more complicated: a new signed form from the legal
representative for the church in El Salvador.
New elections are scheduled for the end of the month, but the current representative
moved to Honduras, ten hours away. The wheels
started turning for right now Seily is there visiting her son at Baxter. We thought that he might be there too. We contacted several people to see if we might
locate Mr. Larin. We hoped to send the form
in email and have him sign it and Seily to bring it back Sunday when she
returns. We also needed his DIU and NTE
copied, which are government cards.
Mario Lara had a copy of those.
The harder obstacle seemed to be the paper needs to have the church seal. It left some questions, but the officer was
quite clear. If we did not get the paper
with the seal, we would need to leave when our residency was up. Dwaine has until June 10th and I
have until July 13th as our papers were separated last year. We think this is an obstacle that is not so
grand that it cannot be overcome. On the
way out we stopped by a fabric store and Mr. Donut. I picked up some fabric to make a few Bible
costumes and we all had a snack. We got
home in time to go to the evening Bible class.
Flora Marina hosted the study and it was a great evening. Several visitors came and she served some
sandwiches and cake. She is a visitor
and it is exciting to have visitors hosting the studies!
Nice visitor at our house.
