May 11, 2015

Unexpected day off.  We had planned to door knock and study in Juayua today, but a few things happened that prevented this.  One, Cesar and Eliza had out of town guests.  Two, Raul and his family went out of town to visit his mom. Third, Cesar is working to connect with our representative in San Salvador for our ‘luck of the draw’ interview with immigration.  He was trying to leave the day open in case he had to travel to San Salvador.  The man who is a preacher that signed our papers is afraid of gangs and may request for Cesar to drive to San Salvador and then to immigration.  As the day developed, the man is in Guatemala, and we are uncertain of his return date.  A second man in San Salvador signed another paper for us and they are trying to see if he would suffice for an immigration interview.  So, we are indeed having the last minute scramble on our papers.  We know that it is in God’s hands for the final approval and for everything to come together.  Our final deadline is May 23rd.  Since we were home, we I decided to have a day of cleaning.  I am feeling overwhelmed in the organization department for children’s classes.  I have gathered some supplies and they are scattered.  Some older materials are even in suitcases from last summer.  I am also wanted to develop seminar ideas and samples as teaching is getting underway in Juayua.  So, we went to the market and I bought a few small baskets for sorting and storing items.  Then, I cleaned out our closets to make space and then went through every suitcase.  I finished that and was satisfied with the end product.  Tuesday, I hope to tackle our bedroom where supplies are also accumulating.  That should just be a small task because I will have a place ready to put them.  It seems a small thing, but it is important to me.  We skyped with Caleb and Della and then with Leanna.  Leanna was finishing an audio power point presentation and trying to register for next year.  It was hilarious as we kept muting the skype and looking up classes as she recorded.  We could hear her recording.  Each time she had to complete a do-over, we just laughed and laughed.  We finally left it with her….so much for the multi-tasking.  I know she was glad to finish her school year.

Wanted to take a picture of the mountain of 'stuff' on our
kitchen table, but alas the camera was buried and I couldn't find it!
