May 3, 2015

Sunday at Shucutitian we had a surprise visit from some Friends from Ahuachapan, Wendy and Eva. We have known them from our first visit in El Salvador.  Leanna had sent Eva a message on Facebook that she was here and Eva came to see her….only she was a week late.  I guess as the expression goes, a week late and a dollar short.  Leanna had already returned to the States.  While it was great to see them, I wish I could have invited them to come home with us.  I work with the teen girls after church, so we were already committed.  Wendy cut my hair after we came and I told her I was in desperate need to visit her for another trim.  Maybe, next week after the preacher’s meeting, I can give her a call.  The teen girls met for lunch and devo and then we were headed out for some visiting, when they remembered that Sunday was Mother’s day.  They worked almost an hour on planning a ‘tea’ of sorts at 1:00 p.m. next Sunday.  I volunteered to make some sweet loaf cakes and some are planning crafts.  It looks to be a nice afternoon.  Since our time was about used, we decided to walk to the end of the cobblestone walk to ask Edgardo if any of the church budget to be used to help with the event.  That was about a 15 minute walk, so I went ahead to call Dwaine to head out to pick me up.  When we got there, he asked if we might visit one of the teen girls that was not coming.  So, I asked Dwaine to come wait at his house and we headed back down the path.  It was a very moving meeting and I am prayerful that some relationships were mended.  Dwaine and I headed out for home for a few minutes and then on to Juayua.  We had some visitors and Elizabeth did the children’s classes.  This was our first Sunday to meet at 5 instead of 7.  With that change, we didn’t have as many visitors from other congregations because they have early activities.  Now, we meet Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 5.  Hopefully it will be easier for everyone to remember. It was good to get the changes initiated.

Blessed to have our El Salvadorian daughter to come visit.

A friend came in to check out the tea.
