Last rain?
It rained all most all night and also rained pretty much all day. To say the least, we did not go on a walk
this morning. We spent the morning
getting ready for English class and for our first class on marriage
tonight. We had a 12:30 study scheduled
with Nelson and had planned to study baptism.
We got there about 12:25 in the rain and Regina said the news said it
would rain pretty much all weekend but this would be the last rain before the
dry season which will last all the way till April or May. Right now we are about ready for an end to
the rain but will sure be missing it before it starts back. Nelson did not arrive till 12:45 and then
Carlos arrived early about 1:20. We
continued a few minutes but Omar and Emily arrived about 5 minutes later. We were not nearly done with the study but
had no real option but to stop where we were.
English class went well and David, Elizabeth’s boyfriend joined the
class for the first time. He speaks
English more clearly than almost anyone we have met lately. After the class we headed home because we had
told Jose and Kelly the Saturday study with them would be at our house this
time. About 3:35 no one had come so I
walked over and she said the little girl, Nicole was asleep on the sofa so we
should just come over there. Jose was
not to be seen and I thought at first he was at work but finally found out that
he was also sleeping. We had also
planned to study baptism with them but Cesar did a short study on what it
really meant to be committed to God and His will since we definitely wanted
them to both be present for the baptism study.
Kelly said she and the kids would come to the 5:00 service on
Sunday. After the study Charlotte walked
over to our house and heated up the remainder of the pizza left over from
Thursday night and everyone enjoyed it again.
At 5 we started our first marriage class. It went great but there were at least 3
couples we had hoped would be there who were not. Charlotte was able to be very enthusiastic
but I was feeling somewhat discouraged from the way the day had gone. I guess it was rainy days and Saturday
instead of Monday. Omar and Emily did
come back for the class and we were able to give them a ride each way as well
as take Zuleyma home. Little by little
as they say here.
Oops, no pics....
