Ding, round
two. Here it is, moving day again. Today, is Bro. Mario Lara and his wife, Sis.
Seyli Lara’s moving day from Santa Ana.
Cesar made the first trip to Santa Ana to help load with ‘the sister’s.’ Br. Lara has had a kidney transplant and he
is not able to help lift. I had some
studies planned with Suleyma, but her husband and son both had Chikungunya. Both
had fevers above 103. So, Dwaine and I utilized
the morning for the studies while we waited.
First, we went to Alba’s. She was
home and we studied baptism. It was a
two part study, with a follow-up of examples in Acts for next week. She said that she would come Sunday and she
gave me a large papaya from her backyard.
I will have some good fruit for bread making. Next, we headed to Wendy’s. She was not home. Her neighbor Sandra, who lives in the same
structure, said that she was out getting her documents in order so everything would be in order when she goes to deliver the baby due in February. We said we would come back the next afternoon. Then, we passed another girl who had come to
the events, Bethsaida. I asked if she
might study sometime and she said that we could stop by. She actually knows Suleyma, so hopefully we
have a good connection. We also stopped
by the home of our only lady who came to the service that we did not know. She wasn’t available to study, but said she
would visit again. We also stopped by
Delmy’s to see if she could study on Wednesday and Mr. Rivas to see if he could
come tonight to our service. Then, we got the call to help with the move. I went home to get a pot of soup I had made
and Dwaine helped unload the truck.
After eating, Dwaine headed out for the final trip to Santa Ana. I first
ran by home and got some food for Mario and Sara. Sara cuts coffee, but he is usually
home. When I went by, I only went to the
gate, to hand the food and invite for service, but Sara was home. They said that they would come tonight. Then,
I met up with Arnoldo to go to Sister Ana’s for her Wednesday devotional. It was strange without the guys, (except
Arnoldo), but we still managed to sing, pray and study the Bible. Even though Ana had a headache, she still
laughed a lot. She did say she had lost
her glasses and couldn’t read her Bible right now. She said that they should turn up, because she
didn’t hardly leave her bed. Two of her
daughters, Sonja and Marina sat in on the whole study. Afterwards, I talked to them about studying
the Bible. Everyone is still struggling
with Dora’s death and I know they have thought much about the lost and how
guides their thoughts towards eternity.
They said that they would study, so I made an appointment for early next
week. Afterwards, we had a little time,
so we went to look for a man who was a caretaker of a home who had said he
might be interested in studying. He wasn't there, and his neighbor said he only worked in the mornings. As we were walking, a boy came up to us and
spoke to me in English. He said he
studied in Sonsonate for three years and his English was great. I told him he could come by anytime to
practice his English. I said that we had
someone who was going to study the Bible in English and we could do the
same. I showed him the church and told
him where we lived. He actually lives
close to us downtown and was near the church visiting a cousin. His name was Renato. Next, Arnoldo and I went to our house, as
Dwaine was back. We wanted to get a
broom to sweep the church building and unload some books that Bro. Lara was
donating to the church. We didn’t have
much time, so we headed back and stopped by Socorro’s. She said she had 5 visitors in her hostel, so
she could not go to church tonight. We
got Dwaine and went by to check on Mario and Sara and kids. They were not at home. So, we went on to the building. Still, we had no electricity, but Bro. and
Sis. Lara brought some lights and we used the neighbor’s electricity. Dwaine taught the lesson and we had a good
group to come. Mr. Rivas came for the
study. He lives very close to the
building, so hopefully he will come regularly.
It was a good evening.
