Hopeful. This morning at 10
Charlotte had a meeting with Eliza to work on the children's classes so before
that we had our usual morning of cooking, washing dishes and walking Wicket. I dropped her off for her meeting then Cesar,
Abi and I headed out to try to do some visiting. First we went by Delmy’s but she was working
again so we walked up to the mansion that is under construction to see if the
caretaker was around. He had said he was
interested in studying the Bible and Charlotte and I had looked for him Tuesday
morning but he was not there then. Today
we found him and talked for about 30 minutes.
Charlotte had said I could invite him for lunch and a study at our house
tomorrow (Friday) but he said he also took care of another large house on the
other side of town and had to work tomorrow.
He said he would come by the church building on Wednesday of next week
and try to work out a time when we could get together. Then Cesar and I went by the building and
swapped the storage room and the room Charlotte, Eliza, and Linda had the kids
in last Sunday. They will now have the
largest room of the 3 bedrooms so hopefully it will give them a little more
space. After that we stopped by William
Rivas and had a good talk about the need for him to make a decision about
becoming a Christian. He was very
serious and said he was strongly considering it but made no decision this
morning. After lunch Charlotte and I
went back up to our old area to try to study with Wendy who had been out
yesterday. She was visiting her Aunt but
her neighbor Reina was home and we had studied with her once before and she
agreed to study again today. She said that she had planned
to visit our first service last Sunday, but she had planned to go with
Wendy. Since Wendy was out of town on Sunday, she didn’t go. We
encouraged her to come and visit with her granddaughters this Sunday. She
also said that the cutting season was completed, so she would be home more for
study. We were excited to know that she had planned to come. I
think she is fairly close to Wendy and helps her a lot preparing to be a
mother. Then we came back home and had
time for a short rest before heading to Raul and Anita's for our first large
group in home study. We had a good turnout
but no visitors. This week I had all my
notes printed out for everyone so they could follow along better but I ended up
just talking and so I asked them to read over the notes at home before the
study next Thursday night. When we ended
Sister Ariceli who lives in the same subdivision as Raul and Anita said we
could meet at her house next week. It is
neat to get to see members offering to have the meeting in their homes and it
was neat to have it in a home. I guess
none of you have any experience with having a group study in homes of members
but it is really a good idea. At night, we walked out into the city again for all the festivities. We met a friend and he said that the fireworks will start at nine. It was 8:45, but we didn't want to linger. So we headed home, and enjoyed seeing a good number of them over our roof top. Even Leanna got to see some on skype. Tomorrow night is supposed to be the final parade and dancing. We think it will be like Carnival.
Fireworks!
Nice and high up!
