Old and new. We started out
the morning of studies with Charlotte heading up the hill near our old house to
study with Alba. Cesar and I went by to
see Mr. Rivas who was not home and Delmy who was home but said she could not
study this morning because she had to go to the school to get the government
issued supplies that were being given out this morning. We headed back up the hill to see if Rafael
was home. When we got to the main road
we ran back into Charlotte because she had gotten the same story from Alba. From
Charlotte, as I was walking down the hill from Alba’s, I heard people walking
behind me. A lady and her son was behind
me and I waited for them to catch up. I
didn’t know her name, but I recognized her because she had been to both the
ladies’ events. I had also knocked on
her door before giving out invitations.
I asked if I could come by sometime and read the Bible with her. She said yes!
At the end of the road we separated and I walked to join Cesar and

At the end of the road we separated and I walked to join Cesar and
Dwaine. I passed another lady and told
her good morning. She hesitated, so I
stopped to talk with her. She recognized
me and introduced herself as Floramarina.
We talked about the church because we could see it from where we were
standing. I invited her and said I would
like to stop by her home and read the Bible.
She said that was great, but I didn’t know where she lived. So, we walked to her home and visited a few
minutes. She made tortillas and lived at
ConSat, a large hardware/car repair location near our first house. We set up Friday to visit again. From there I passed Dwaine and Cesar and we
all walked over to Wendy's and she was home so we, Dwaine and Cesar, left
Charlotte there and we headed back to check on Rafael. On the way we stopped by Julia's to give her
some of Charlotte's cookies and invite her again to services at our new
location. She had company so we only
visited for a few minutes. When we got
to Rafael’s house he was there and we had a good visit for about 45
minutes. We did not really get into a
study but he did ask about the 10% offering which is a big thing here and
several churches will not let people attend unless they sign an agreement to
give 10% of what their income is. We
showed him several verses about that in the New Testament and Cesar shared the
verses in Acts of how the first Christians even sold their possessions so that
others could be provided for. I think he
was favorably impressed and repeated that his door was always open if he was
home. Cesar needed to get back home
because Eliza called that the cooking gas had run out and they were expecting
Osvaldo and Family for lunch. After
lunch we visited Sister Ana and had a devotional with her. We tried to go by Mario and Sara's but no one
was home. When we got back to our house,
Osvaldo, Luzelena, their kids, Sister Yesenia and her two girls all came over
for coffee and to see our new house. I
think all the kids about made a nervous wreck out of Wicket but she
survived. At 5:40 we all headed to the
new location. We had a good number
including 11 kids that Charlotte, Eliza and Arnoldo taught and Osvaldo taught
on the God is love passage in 1 John.
Kelly and Nicole were our only visitors but she did make a comment
during the class and I was glad of that.
After the service we gave Ana and her two kids a ride back to their
house since they had walked up. However it was a long walk and now it was
dark.
