Yesterday
ended up being outside the plans but was still a good day. We had kept the day open because we thought
we might be going to San Salvador to meet with the people from the church here
that is to sponsor us for visas. But
this did not work out so we had an open day.
We decided to go to Ahuachapan to get the car worked on and to get
groceries. We thought we would go by the
new house we were looking at to make sure it was still available. While we were there Carlos drove by and we
told him where we were going. He said he
thought it would really be good if he went with us so that he could make sure
what needed to be done to the car was done and that we were treated
fairly. He said he thought there was a
better mechanic but he was not a brother.
So he could not go yesterday but promised to work it out soon. So, what to do with our day? We decided to go to Turin to look for the
lady Charlotte had wanted to attend services with. Amazingly, we didn't have too much problem
finding her house because of Charlotte’s good memory. We just had a short visit, she had a bad
cold and said she didn't feel good but we set a date for Mar. 8 to go back and
go to services with her so hopefully she will.
Then we came back through Ahuachapan and since it was only about 11:00
we had lunch and walked around town some.
Then we went to the grocery and came home. Last night we went to a home Bible study
group that we attended last week and then afterward to the home of Egardo for
dinner. He had invited us the night
before and again last night so we went and had a great time but he had not told
his wife we were coming. I said we did
not know that she did not know and we all laughed. Later he mentioned that he had started
working for the Church here. I said
Hector had already told us this. He said
he did not know that we knew. I said we
did not know that he did not know that we knew. By this time we all were laughing ourselves
silly. I told them that the brothers
back home said I was going to have a hard time making people laugh with my
Spanish. They said I should tell them I
was doing just fine in that area. Well,
today we are off to Hector’s house to go with him to Juayua and will tell you
how it went on the next report. Continue
to keep Hector’s children in your prayers, Charlotte had a long phone call with
Rachel yesterday and she said they took Daniel (their youngest) to the Dr. and
got some medicine so maybe he will be better soon. Also along the line of health issues,
Charlotte got a grand report from the doctor.
She had gained over three pounds and now weighs 13.6 pounds. If she had not made this increase, tests
would have been on the horizon. Praise God for her gain. She also grew two inches! We were excited for this good news!
When we came home, a horse was tied to the tree in front of our house!
While this is another picture of the horse, I forgot to take a picture of our visit to Turin and our first invite for dinner into the home of a gracious family!
