February 6, 2015

We had some unexpected visitors during the middle of the night last night!  If fact, they dropped by several times.  We have mice!  We kept hearing a mouse chewing on paper and we would look around to no avail.  I kept thinking, ‘Is this mouse eating our passports?”  Well, they were safe, but I will be sure they are inaccessible tonight.  Then, 'Wendy' kept coming over to further keep us up.  The winds have been so strong, that when we close our door, the door just shakes and rattles.  It made for a restless nightJ.
Hector came for a visit to give us his schedule and talk about housing and plans.  It was gracious of him to share all the details.  Some of his children have had some bad colds, so we have not seen much of Rachel.  Keep them in your prayers.
We went for our usual studies this morning, but only one was available.  The second rescheduled for the afternoon.  So after a couple of hours out, we headed home.  With the extra time, we checked out a local place for lunch and then visited the doctor.  No one is sick.  We have to have a doctor look at us and say we look healthy for our visas.  We had to make sure that they could do it, so we are supposed to go in the morning.  It was fortunate that we stopped by because they will not be there next week and we would have had to travel some distance to have it done elsewhere.  Of course, we are basically, just needing a signature and that will cost about $50 to have a doctor sign us off.  We are thankful that we can get that done without going down the mountain. We had also invited some church members over for dinner so we all cooked some.
Lucky and I went out for our missed study and it lasted almost 2 hours.  We are on the last book of the Bible, so it has been a challenge to teach about 5 chapters of Revelation per study.  That is a hard one to jump into.  We are going to shift to a salvation study next week and I am excited about that.   After that study, we went to study with the teen girls.  We had about 6 there.  With the smaller group, I got to talk to each one a little more and that was good.  Lucky had been studying with one of the teens who had recently become a Christian and she asked if I could help with her follow up studies.  Lucky is a new grandmother of a little boy, and she is going back to the States Monday until some time about April.  We will greatly miss her help.
Our guests were supposed to arrive about 6, so I left some instructions for Dwaine to help with the last minute cooking.  When we got back home at 5:40 he was so professional looking.  While we were gone, he went out to find a little apron for me and he was wearing it.  The chef did a great job!  Our friends enjoyed the meal and we got to Skype with Caleb since they had known them.  It has been funny.  Everyone says that Dwaine is just like Caleb and Dwaine says he the older, so Caleb is just like Dwaine.  It is always good for a laugh.  It funny how they make jokes so easily.  It is good to have people here and laugh and talk.
