Baptism on
the horizon. Friday is Kelly and Nicole’s
day for a study. Today we wrapped up a 5
part study and will start a different vein next week. We also worked on the craft for the Ladies’
Event in November as Kelly will direct that.
I am doing a lesson on the sower and wanted to do something with seeds. Kelly came up with a really cute craft with a
homemade decorated pot for planting some seeds! She is so creative. During our meeting, Dwaine went to the store
for items for our visitors that will come tonight for dinner. This is our first dinner since we have been
back, so it is good to get back in the swing.
After Kelly and Nicole, we waited for Douglas and Mauricio, but they did
not come. We know Douglas’ schedule got
changed this week, so we may have to reconnect with him to see when he is open
again. Mauricio said he might have to go
out of town, so possibly this happened. Nelson and Cesar came about 2:30 to have a
study. I had met Alba on the street on
Thursday and she said that Kathryn had a cold and would not come. But, about 3, there was a knock on the
door. It was Alba and Katheryn. Alba works on Friday afternoon, so she was
just dropping Kathryn off. However, she
stayed for a few minutes. Then, she
broke the news that she wanted to be baptized!
Even though I have studied for months with her, it had been a little
time, so I asked if we could have one additional study to review and talk. She is working straight through until Monday,
so we are going to meet Monday and study and see where that leads. Alba came to one of the first ladies’ events
that we had and she had stopped me on the street in the dark one night and
asked where we were going to church. So,
with many studies she has gradually been coming more and more. Katheryn has also made a connection with
girls in the class and both Katheryn and Jacquelyn participated in our Creation
skit before the church. What a
blessing! Keep Alba in your prayers that
all comes together. Katheryn stayed on
for about an hour and a half for a study and I took her home. We worked on dinner and Sandra, Raul and
Edgardo arrived about 7. It was a really
nice evening and we learned that they actually live only about 5 or 6 blocks
from us and are buying their home.
Sandra is a nurse and Raul was studying to be a doctor when Edgardo was
born. He had to have two surgeries, one
being an emergency, so Raul postponed his studies to care for him and Sandra
continued to work. In the end they said
they would take us out to pupusas one evening so we are in prayer that they will
be open for study.

Rest time.
