Dwaine
started early to clean the building. I
cooked a couple of cakes, thinking this would be Mario and Seily’s last
day. But I learned that they delayed one
day, so I put them in the frig to serve on Thursday night since the Bible study
was going to be in our house. Together,
we went by Kelly and Jose’s but Jose was out working. We had not had time to stop by the first week
for some one on one time, so it was good to drop by. What a blessing to spend a few minutes with
them! Next we went to the cemetery to
visit with Briseida. She was out, but
Antonio was there to say she was out. He
has moved his work to their home since they have electricity now. After our effort, we came home for our study
with Douglas and Sonja. We had scheduled
a study at 11:30 and we arrived closer to noon.
We were thinking it might not happen.
He came without Sonja. He
explained his work schedule that he works a full 24 hours and then is off
24. So, on his off day, he tries to
sleep until noonish. He is a security
guard. He does have a strong background
in a church here, but he is willing to continue to study. Arnoldo came for lunch close to 1 and I was
expecting Carolina. She has had a cold
and several times lately has had to watch Sister Ana. When Carolina’s mom, Dora, died last year,
the five kids, stayed together with their dad close by, except Carolina lived
with Ana. The owner of that house wanted
their house back. They were only paying
$25 a month, but he wanted it back. So,
the children are moving back to Sister Ana’s.
For all these changes, Carolina could not come. Afterwards, I went to Socorro’s. She seemed a little distracted for the study
and then right at 4, she said that she had to walk to her house and get a key
for a client. So, we had to end the
study. She walked me home and then on to
her house. As she walked away, I
realized that I had left my keys on her table as we had left in a hurry. Dwaine had gone to Sister Ana’s, so I waited
for his return. I knew it would be soon,
and it was only about 5 minutes. It was
beginning to rain, so I was glad that he wasn’t too much after me. We were home for a short time and then we headed
out for pick ups. When we got to Sister Ana’s it was exciting that Douglas came. The down news was that Gloria had cut her
hand working in the coffee fields and had to get two stitches. Carolina had done the same the previous week,
but was doing better. Our last stop was
Socorro’s and her tabletops were empty, so no keys. Hopefully they will turn up. For service, we had several visitors and some
of which, were Alba and Katherine and Giovanni (Mario and Seily’s son visiting
from Baxter). We were excited about
that. After church....more seminar prep....
