February 1, 2016

We had asked Jose to paint a mural on the wall in the room at the new location that we are using for the children's class.  He said he would meet us there at 7:30 this morning.  When we drove up he was already waiting.  He and Charlotte talked about what she had in mind and then she headed back home to get ready to have a study at 9 with Celia.  I stayed and talked with Jose while he worked.  Soon after Charlotte left we walked back up to his house to get a ladder and I bought some more coffee for us while we were there.  Between all the people we have over and now the Saturday morning coffee and bread we go through a lot of coffee.  I was glad to get to spend some time with just the two of us because I wanted to ask him where he was in his thinking about becoming a Christian now that they were married.  He said they had been discussing it and when Charlotte came back by on her way to her study he asked if they decided to be baptized what was the process.  We talked about how there were no waiting periods in the book of Acts though that is a common thing among several of the groups here and we talked about the various possible options for places to be baptized.  He did not make any decisions but it was great to get to talk about it.  He said it was a big step for him to get married and it was the same with being baptized.  Keep them in your prayers, Jose and Kelly.  He did a great job on the painting.  He has talent. From Charlotte, I went with Seyli to study with Celia.  We included invites to the ladies’ class on Saturday.  Just after we started the study, Celia’s daughter, Teresa arrived.  She is always working, so this was a big treat to have her join us for the study. At lunch I (Dwaine) went back home with Charlotte and gave him one of our keys to the front door of the building.  We spent the afternoon getting ready for Jenny and her two children to come to dinner.  She was the wife of the Italian chef who helped us look for a house one a few occasions and we had said we were going to have them over for dinner to thank them.  But then he returned to Italy and she stayed here.  She had asked Charlotte about giving her older daughter English lessons but we decided against that but we still would like to have her come for dinner.  In the end she did not show up so we mostly put things in the frig to keep them for a couple of days and just ate some of our leftovers from previous meals.  Well, at least that was our first no show.
