Only sixteen or one hundred.
This morning after our walk with Wicket I ran over to the building about
8:30 because the floors had gotten pretty dirty from the ladies event on
Saturday and we did not have time to clean them afterward. When I arrived Cesar was already there and
had been working some so it did not take us too long to finish up. Then I went back home and got Charlotte and
we went by and picked up Regina and all 4 children (adults). They all fit in the back seat somehow but
they are used to that here. We were sure
scrubbing over the speed bumps. We had a
good turnout but all were brothers and sisters from here or Salcoatitan or
other congregations except for Alma dropping off her two daughters and then
Kiki and Nicole arriving so Kiki was our oldest visitor and he was only 16 last
week. We were expecting several others
but the wind was really strong and it must have blown away their willingness to
attend. This was Charlotte’s first time
to come to the service since she has been teaching all of January. We
also gave Regina, Arnoldo and Kenia a ride to Salcoatitan in the afternoon for
the service there. They had a special prayer for Sister Esperanza who had her
100th birthday yesterday. She
was not able to attend but two of her granddaughters were there. I asked if they were going to have a big
party and they looked at me a little strangely.
They probably cannot afford any kind of party even for such a special
occasion. Over all it was not a very
eventful day but it was a Lord's Day and we got to spend it with many brothers
and sisters and that is always a reason to rejoice.
