Ten visitors and pupusas!!!
This morning Charlotte and Seyli headed out to study with Reina and to
hand out invitations, Cesar and Mario went over to study with Delmy and I
headed out alone to give out invitations to the Ladies event this
Saturday. It went well. I did not slide any under doors but only gave
them to people I was able to talk to in person.
When I finished I went back over to Delmy's to catch up with Cesar and
Mario. They were studying baptism and
Delmy said she was not attending anywhere because she had gone through a lot of
difficulties in the last year but that she really wanted to get back into
connection with God and to have her children to have a relationship with
God. It was very encouraging. After that we walked by to visit Mr.
Rivas. He was not home but we did have a
short visit with his grandmother and aunt and had a prayer with them and
invited them to the ladies event on Saturday. Charlotte:
Seyli and I first went above the cemetery and Wendy was still home. She did not deliver on Monday. The doctor told her that she wasn’t quite
ready and he made an appointment for her to come back on Tuesday. We just visited a few minutes and invited
them to the ladies’ event. Reina, her
neighbor was there and she said that we could come in to study. We didn’t study too long so we could hand out
invitations. She had been out the last
couple of weeks, so it was good to start back on that study. Then, Seyli and I covered a few more streets. We got to stop by and visit with Julia some
and we took some bread to Alba. She had
given me the bananas, so I wanted to be sure to get her a loaf. Her husband was home and we invited them
again to the Wednesday night service.
(And, as Dwaine mentioned, they were among our visitors for the night!)
Dwaine: When we walked back up to Mario
and Seyli's she and Charlotte had just arrived in their house to find that
their two dogs had killed their guinea pig and were playing with the body. She was crying and it was a sad moment. When
we got back home Arnoldo joined us for lunch.
After lunch Charlotte had Suleyma and Yesenia over to help them to get
ready to teach the children's classes.
Arnoldo, Cesar and I went to visit Sister Ana. She has another appointment tomorrow in Ahuachapán
with the Doctor there, who is a brother in the church. She seemed a little depressed. Tonight we had 10 visitors at our midweek
service. I lead a class on the ending of
the miraculous gifts and gave everyone some materials they could study at
home. This was the second week for Don
Santos and Sonja and Jimmy to come and afterwards they invited us to join them
for pupusas at the little shop just above the church building. We said we already had an invitation to eat pupusas
but that we could go with them to the restaurant near our house next week after
our Tuesday night study. When we got up
to Mario and Seyli's, Carlos and Linda and their daughters were already there
and Cesar and Eliza and Abi arrived after a few minutes. We had a great time and the pupusas were
great. There were several different kinds
as well as sauce and trimmings and tea or hot chocolate to drink. For dessert we had banana bread that
Charlotte had made. We really enjoyed
the fellowship and the food too. It was sort
of strange to be in our old house but not be the hosts.
Jose's painting inthe children's classroom!
We have had lots of laughs regarding the 'ruby,' blonde hair of the kids!
