Regifting. Tuesday morning is meeting time for the
Juayua and Salcoatitan. For this week,
agenda items seemed to go a little faster and we finished up about 11:30. We talked about a one day medical brigade
coming the week of Easter, but we will be in the State. But the group will move on the
opportunity. Ricardo and Carlos and
families had visited Santa Tecla and they reported on the work there. We did decide that our entire meeting will be
dedicated to the Huntsville campaign coming in July next Tuesday. That will be helpful for the planning occurring
in the States too. I had wanted to go to
Sonsonate afterwards because of looking for some hard to find items for the
ladies’ event on Saturday. Salcoatitan is
on the way and since our meeting was in Salcoatitan this week, we decided to
tag it on. The study for Ana and her
daughter, Sonja, was scheduled for 2 in the afternoon, so we had a little a
deadline to get back. We hit up Dollar
City, Selectos in the mall and Selectos in town. Sonsonate actually has three Selectos. I was still a few items short in the end, but
it was good to get most items. We
arrived home 5 til 2, and Seyli was waiting on me. We headed out to Ana’s, but Sonja was
working. Her 10 year old daughter was
caring for Ana, so Sonja may be out more.
Ana seemed down, so we tried to encourage her. I changed what we were going to study to
focus more on her needs. Ana will
probably never be able to walk again and with the loss of her daughter, she really
suffers from depression. When we
finished, I headed on to Socorro’s. She
is always a joy to visit. She is always
working, but she said she would try to come to part of the ladies’ class. Finally, we planned our study with Don Santos
and family. Dwaine prepared a study to
answer a question that he had. Last week
they said they wanted to bring pizza and asked if there was any ingredients
that we did not like. We couldn’t think
of anything. Later in the week, we
thought neither one of us liked anchovies.
Dwaine walked by to mention this and the word for those little fishes
was different that their translation for anchovies….it is sardines. Anyway, they thought maybe we didn’t want
pizza, so they brought fruit and sweet bread.
Then, we had a full meal prepared because of our no show the previous
day. So we heated it up and it was an
enormous meal….regifting the meal. They
stayed a little later than usual and we ended with hopes of seeing them
tomorrow night at the Wednesday night service.
While that may be the end of the night for some….I went on to help
Leanna with a Physics’ lab and then worked on Sunday school planning for some
ladies coming on Wednesday for some idea brainstorming. So, I went to bed a little after 2. There just aren’t enough hours in the day!
Don Santos, Sonja and Jimmy for dinner!
