Our weekly leader's meeting for Juayua-Salcoatitan would have been
in Salcoatitan this week because it was here last week and we alternate between
here and there. But we actually thought
that Kelly, Jose and Kiki might decide they were ready so we requested that we
meet here and then in Salcoatitan for the next two weeks in a row. Anyway, then we figured out that Kiki goes to
school all day and that really the only possibility would be in the evening or
on Saturday. Also, as it turned out this
week, Jose has worked all day each day in San Salvador and had to leave very
early and not get home till after 8 at night so we are still waiting and hoping. We are still scheduled to have the in home
group Bible study at their house Thursday night so who knows what might happen
then. If you can be praying between 5
and 6 on Thursday night because that is the time of our meeting at their house
and our time is the same as yours right now.
Our meeting went well, mostly talking about upcoming events. The next one is a movie in our house on
Saturday morning for the teens in the English class and we got all the details
worked out for that. Also, the next
event will be a repeat in Salcoatitan of the ladies day that we had here in
Juayua on the first Saturday of February.
Our two week trip back to Huntsville was also on the agenda. We leave here on Friday March 11th
and that is the same day as the monthly preacher's meeting so we decided to ask
Bro. Mario Lara if he could go with us to the airport and drive our car back so
that Cesar could attend the preacher's meeting.
There will be a one day medical mission in Salcoatitan during the time
we are gone and the first of the 3 area wide family seminars that will be held
this year will be on March 26th just before we get back. We will also miss Easter week here which is
the week long parade event. We did get
to take it all in last year both in Ataco and here in Juayua and it is the same
every year so we are not too disappointed about missing it this year. Kelly did walk by during our meeting and we
got to visit with her for a few minutes.
After lunch Charlotte went by to pick up Seyli for their weekly meeting
with Ana's daughters. Charlotte: Ana was outside, feeling pretty good. It was
just so hot in her room. The additional
great news was that Gloria was there and she sat through the whole lesson. I did the class that I had done for the
ladies’ event on Lydia. It was nice
because I did the power point and I think that Ana liked seeing the
pictures. Sonja came in about half way
through the lesson and she went in to rest.
Ana did say that no one was working right now in all of their
household. It is so hard to see so many
people struggling. Once harvesting
coffee is completed, many are without work.
Keep them in your prayers. Dwaine:
Cesar went with me to Claro to see why I had gotten two bills at the
same time. I had to go to their office
last month because our bill had gone to our previous house and Mario's dogs had
completely destroyed it. Turns out after
all that it was actually paid a little late and so they had resubmitted it so
that was why we got two but we only owed for the last one so that was
fine. Tuesday is our weekly night study
with Don Santos, Sonja and Jimmy. They
arrived right on time at 6:30. We watched
a film on the process to becoming a Christian.
It went really well and he asked some good questions afterwards (Why did
Jesus say he was forsaken by the Father on the cross and if baptism is for forgiveness
why do we not have to be baptized again after we become Christians and sin
again). They promised to come to the Wednesday service tomorrow night. We are hopeful that he is coming to
understand the Gospel. Another encouraging
day.
