Church services at the beach.
What a long day!! Charlotte got
up at 4:30 and as soon as she got out of the shower at 4:45 I got in. We heard our young visitors upstairs and knew
we did not have to wake them. Charlotte
had thought we were leaving at 6 instead of 6:30 so she had over compensated
and we actually had to sit and wait for time to leave. She fixed breakfast while I packed the
cooler. We stopped by to pick up Catherine
on the way and got to the meeting place about 6:45. One of our greatest delights was that a lady,
Rosaria, we have been studying with came. We had invited her, but were uncertain
that she had made a final decision. She
is good friends with Reina, who also came.
Rosaria’s granddaughter also came. The 2 rented buses did not arrive
until about 7:20. We ended up only
having 7 in the car because Catherine had to ride the bus because her aunt was
going and her dad had told her to stay with her aunt for the day. Edgardo, his wife and daughter rode with us
along with Pedrito and Kenya. Charlotte
sat on the console between the front seats so it was a long ride for her. I said that at least we were still on our
honeymoon. We rode behind one of the
busses all the way and that was pretty slow but the scenery was really
beautiful. The beach was really crowded
and we had to wait a long time at the entrance to get in. We had a nice pavilion for our group but
there was another group having a church service right beside us and during
their service they baptized some people in the pool right next to us. The service was neat, Hector spoke on Ruth
and when he spoke of Ruth’s love for Naomi he mentioned Charlotte and me as an
example of two people loving each other deeply for many years. After the service we had about 1 ½ hrs.
before lunch so we changed and went down to the beach. The waves were amazing in how powerful they
were. The sand was black like it was in
China but it was pretty nice. We did not
go in too far but it was fun. Then we
went up and had lunch and sat and visited for a long time. Pedrito got in the pool awhile but we just
sat for about 3 hrs. The plastic chairs
sure got uncomfortable and we sure were sleepy after our lunch. We did not have to wait for the buses on the
way back so we got home about 4:30 which gave us time to shower off the grime
and have dinner before we headed out to Juayua.
We had a large group including several members and some visitors from
Juayua. Osvaldo spoke on Eph. 2 and did
a great job. We sure did not stay up
long when we finally got home. We did get to talk to baby Charlotte during the day to wish her a happy 7th month birthday!
