Yesterday was another standard three services Sunday. For one of her activities with the teen girls
Charlotte had boiled eggs for them to paint so we pealed those and she made
chicken salad. She kept saying she hoped
they would like it, well like everything she makes everyone thought it was
wonderful. Carlos preached about the
book of Judges and it was great. Then
while Charlotte had her devotional with the teen girls the men all had a 1 ½ hour
meeting about the church here buying a property for a new meeting place. The services were so packed yesterday that
there was almost no where to sit. They
talked about two places that were being considered. One was across from the police station here
in Ataco and on the entrance road into town.
Hector said this would be a great advertising location for the church
because everyone who entered Ataco would have to pass right by it. The thing that impressed me the most was that
the church here had been able to save about $6000 in about 6 months and most of
the people do not seem to have very much to be able to give. They discussed taking out a loan for the
purchase of the property but wanted everyone to understand the importance of their
commitment to giving each week in order to be able to make the payments. It was a good meeting but I sure got hungry
before it was over. When we finished the
girls were ready to go out to visit and Charlotte had saved me a sandwich and a
drink. It sure was good and I’m pretty
sure the guys who saw it were jealous.
Charlotte and the girls only went to visit Rosaria. They had a devotional and Charlotte and I are
going to try to go back for a study Monday.
Then there was the Ataco service and again I think it was the most
people I had seen there. Carlos repeated
his sermon, then we had dinner and were off to Juayua. We had a good size group and some visitors. Hector preached from the book of Ephesians
and did a great job. Sundays sure are
full, by the time we got home and had a snack we were tired enough for bed.
Rachel brought a suitcase full of clothes and the ladies went
through these and divided them up.
Many were designated for baptism clothes.
This is actually an amazing photo. This is an old fashion camera that does not have a visible screen for a selfie.....but somehow I managed to get Katherine on the left and Karla in the center and myself in the photo. You would laugh if you knew how much I moved the camera just before the flash! Ha!
