Study day. Because we
took Navidad to the hospital on Tuesday, we were a little behind on our local
studies. We started with a trip to
Rachel’s to have a meeting for the upcoming children’s camp. Her children had wanted to have an activity
for their age group so they have planned an overnight camp the 1st
and 2nd of May. Dwaine and I
are going to help with some of the drama, crafts, chaperoning, etc. Afterwards, we went to Rosaria’s. That was the best study! A couple of weeks ago we asked what was her
thoughts and she said she had the knowledge, but not the heart to make a
decision. Yesterday, she said her heart
was softening, but she needed more knowledge!
What a blessing! She has a
Catholic background and we are working some of the doctrine. But so much more…..we seem to meet her is so
many places. We met her walking along
the road while we went to a study, we have met her at the lady’s home who is so
sick and she went to the beach.
Friendship is so vital. Rosaria
is close friends with Reina, who was just baptized and they have become even
closer since she has been coming to some activities. It is amazing how the body is working
together to bring her along. Edgardo
studied with her once and the teen girls go all along to visit her. Lucky used to read the Bible to her when she
was here. What a blessing to work in a
body that is so integrated in their efforts to reach the loss. After we completed this study, we visited
with Bessy and her mom and then Bessy went with us to Reina’s home for a
study. We tried to study with Stephanie,
but she was preparing for the home owner to come. Stephanie has been visiting the JW’s and has
not been available to study for a few weeks.
We set a time for next week and will talk directly to her about their
doctrine. We pray that we will have this
opportunity. At the end of the day, we
thought we would go by and visit with Navidad.
We made the climb to her home and she was doing better from
Tuesday. Rosaria had walked from her
home some distance away to check on her too.
We talked for a while and had a prayer.
Her daughter walked us back to the road.
We got home a little earlier than usual, so we skyped everyone. We listened to a sermon on the internet and I
cooked. I fixed a loaf of banana bread
and cooked a yellow cake with chocolate cream cheese icing. We thought Bryan was coming by for a visit,
so I wanted to have something for him.
He didn’t make it, but we enjoyed the cake. At the end of the day we did get a skype message that Kenya's echocardiogram came back normal! That was news for rejoicing! We know she still has some health issues, but we are thankful that this major test was normal.
Stephanie with her twin sister.
How is this for a spur on a rooster?
Here's the cake! Yummy!
