Yesterday we headed out to Juayua about 9:45 to the home of
Cesar & Eliza. We had tentatively
planned to do some door knocking and pass out some tracts but they were not
ready yet so we visited some until lunch and then went to a restaurant we had
been to a few times to eat and to ask them about studying. They said they work all the time but would
try to make some time. Then we passed by
a house that was empty so we asked the lady next door and she was the
owner. She showed it to us. It was very unusual. Really only 2 fairly large rooms- a living
room and one bedroom and no kitchen. She
said it had been part of her house but they had separated this part off and
were using it for small groups to stay in for a few days at a time. She said 12 people could stay there with
sleeping bags. It definitely did not fit
our needs for a place to live. Then we
went over to Sister Regina’s and after visiting with them some and rejoicing
with them about Kenya’s good report and discussing some plans for the church
Cesar and I went to visit a family who lived around the corner. As a result they came to the 5:00
devotional. Then Charlotte, Pedrito,
Cesar and I went to visit Meribel, a lady who also owns a restaurant and has studied
with us in the past. We had a good study
and then went back to Regina’s for the devo.
On our way out of town we stopped at our favorite store (Selectos) and
got a few things we were out of. The
group had also decided to start helping Sister Ana (the one with arthritis that
we visit each Wen) with a few groceries each month so we got the ones we had
said we could give. This would not be a
lot here but I know it will make a big difference to her family. Charlotte helped Sister Regina make tortillas….well
only two. She makes 80 every three days
for her family of 5!
