Visiting all day.
While we were eating breakfast yesterday Edgardo came by for the first
time in a couple of weeks. We had told
him at services Sunday that we had not seen him lately. We gave him coffee and some sweets Charlotte
had made and after a good conversation he asked us to go with him to do some
morning visiting. He said we would be
back by 10:30 so that worked out for us because we were expecting Kathrine for
lunch. The first couple we visited had
been baptized during the campaign by the group from Guatemala last summer but
had not been coming to services. Edgardo
spoke pretty strongly to them but they did not say much and we did not either
in that study. Then as we walked down
the road we saw a large, unusual squirrel in a cage on a front porch. The lady saw us looking at it and invited us
in. She and her 82 yr. old mother sat
and visited with us awhile and then we had a short study and invited them to
the Friday 6:00 gathering that is held in that area every week. Then Edgardo walked with us up to see one of
the buildings the church is considering buying for a meeting place. There was room for further growth but the
building and roof were in really bad shape and needed a lot of work. Then we went to the market for a few items
and came home and got ready for lunch.
Kathrine was supposed to come about 12:30 but didn’t make it so we ate
close to 1:00 had a really short rest and headed out for the afternoon
studies. Bessy and her mother had wanted
us to try some more traditional foods with them so we went and studied with
Sister Reina (it still sounds so good to be able to say that) then we went back
to Bessy’s house and had so delicious hoagie style sandwiches and visited about
an hour. Stephanie was in Santa Ana with
her twin sister so we did not get to study with her. Then we ran back by home because it is not
very far and had about 45 minutes to skype with baby Charlotte while she was
awake. She is almost always asleep when
we skype at night. Then we went back out
to the Tuesday evening Bible group at Zoila’s.
Carlos led as usual and as usual did a great job. It was on Ruth and there were some really
great comments as well. By the time we
got home and skyped with a couple of the kids we were pretty worn out but it
had been a great day. Monday we got my
birthday card from the family in the mail and also a letter Lauren Hilbert so
the address worked and we welcome any snail mail or e-mail you may have time to
send.
