Monday we got ready to go to Ahuachapan with Cesar to look
for a few things we needed for the church in Juayua. We were expecting him to arrive by himself at
9:30 at our house since it is on the way from Juayua to Ahuachapán. He arrived about 9:45 but he had Regina and
two of her 3 daughters with him.
Regina’s mother had gone to the hospital in Ahuachapán because she was
sick and they wanted to go visit her. We
had planned to continue from Ataco in our car but there were too many people
for our car so we followed Cesar and took both cars. Turned out that no one knew where the
hospital was so we dropped the 3 of them off on a corner and they were going to
get a taxi and say take us to the hospital.
Then we did some walking, Charlotte was not really feeling much better
but she went anyway. We were looking for
some children’s chairs and child size tables and we ended up getting these from
Joli’s store and she was going to order some adult size chairs that will come
in next week. There is a bro. who is
going to make us a white board and tripod to use for the English class so those
should be ready in a few days also.
After we finished Cesar went back to get the ladies and we did some
shopping on our own for a few things we needed. We only have a gas oven and it only cooks on
bottom so we wanted to find an electric baking oven and I told Charlotte if we
were going to get it we needed to go ahead so she could use it for this
weekend. We went into several stores but
they all had the same small ones that would be of very little use. We had given up but when we got to Selectos
there was a large furniture store beside it so we went in and asked and to our
amazement they had the largest one we had seen here. We had spent more of our money than we had
planned because of the chairs and table so we used our credit card for the
first time since we got here. I watched
it every minute they had it and I don’t think there will be any problems there. I guess we will find out the fee for out of
US use. When we got home Charlotte was
pretty worn out so she did stay home while I went to the evening study at
Schutitan. Hector was a few minutes late
and the three brothers present were not song leaders and I am not to that point
yet in my Spanish so we had some challenges singing till he got there.
