First English in Salcoatitan. We arrived at 8:30 for our nine o’clock class
and the director put us into two temporary classroom. Our room was fine, but the Value’s class was
in a tiny room. I went in to check it
out and it was a tiny lab. There were
four or five chemicals and about 4 really small microscopes and about 4 to 5 400x
scopes. That was exciting to see. We had a good turnout, about 14 younger
students and about 13 older students. Of
course, we just repeated our Monday class from Juayua, so it was stress free.
While the students are late elementary and high school age, we do not have a
high expectation for outreach. We cannot
talk about God. However, we are really
trying to make a positive, regular presence in the community so that we when we
work on evangelism, people will recognize us as an active church, trusted and
working among the people. The morning
went smooth and we enjoyed the interaction.
Arnoldo came home with us for lunch.
At 3ish, Dwaine dropped me off at Socorro’s for our study and he took
Arnoldo home. He brought me back the car
and then walked home. I wrapped up at 5
with Socorro. Since we were expecting
the landlord at 6, we ate a quick bite of dinner before his arrival. He rode his bike over, so his son and wife
were not with him. We continued with a
Biblical film that he really likes. Afterwards,
we told him the news that we would move at the end of December. He was amazing. He said that he knew the house we were moving
to and it would be great for our needs.
He said the location was great and the best part, he said it would even
be closer for him to come for studies.
He said we were actually getting new neighbors as he had rented to
small, three room place next to us. He
said it was a couple in their 30’s and the girl was American. He said they would move in soon. We were all actually praying for the
possibility of a church location there, so God answered that prayer for
us. We also told him, that a Christian
man and wife that we knew might be interested in renting our place. He said, not to worry and he also said he
would not show our place to anyone until we moved. He is the most gracious landlord ever! When he left I sent some dessert home with
him, so he carried it in a bag since he was on bike. Afterwards, Dwaine and I worked on our lesson
for the marriage class some. There is
always a reason to prepare, prepare, prepare.
Many more to come in this tiny classroom.
English students.
