We managed to get our walk in this morning. We went downtown and walked through the
market and got some items for Charlotte to make pupusas for Sister Ana. Charlotte had told her last week that she
would bring them this week. She home
made the sauce but the shredded cabbage topping is difficult and time consuming
so we bought two bags of that. The
prices in the street market are amazing- we bought the two bags of mix, 3 egg
plants and a carrot all for $1.50. At 9
Cesar and Arnoldo arrived and we headed out for our usual Wednesday
studies. Our first stop was at Mr.
Rivas. During the study Bro. Miguel, the
preacher in Santa Katarina and his wife arrived. He is Mr. Rivas uncle and his mother, Mr.
Rivas grandmother, lives with Mr. Rivas.
He sat in on the end of the study.
When we were wrapping up and Cesar asked if anyone had any other
comments I said I had a question. I told
Mr. Rivas we had been studying with him since February when we first started
coming to Juayua and that he knew way plenty to become a Christian so why
hadn't he. We had a pretty good
discussion for the next few minutes but he still would not make a
decision. He did say he would come to
the class at 5. Next we went by Delmy
but two people in her family were sick with Chikungunya and she said that this
was not a good day to study. We had a
prayer with her and she cried a little.
Then we went by Julia’s but she had a house full of company so we just
talked at the gate for a few minutes. It
had been a short morning but Charlotte needed to get home so she could cook the
pupusas before we headed to Ana's at 2.
She and Arnoldo worked hard indeed for about two hours and they made 8
each of 3 different kinds and a couple left over that we had for lunch. David and Suzie had brought a stove top grill
down for us when they came and it great.
Ana was so thrilled. She said she
still had a cold and aches and pains but that still perked her up pretty good. After we left Ana's we went by to study with
Sara but she was not home. While we were
waiting at her gate Nelson walked by on his way home from work. We said we sure had been missing him and he
said he had been missing us to. He said
he was working every day in the coffee fields because it is harvest time but
that he would come to the 5:00 service and bring his little girl, Ruby. So we headed back to get ready for our class
at 5. This lesson was on forgiveness and
I said it was perfect for Charlotte and me because I was always needing
forgiveness and she was always having to give it. When we went by the end of Mr. Rivas's road
he was waiting for us and came on down. Pretty soon after the class started
Nelson and Ruby arrived and then about 5:40 Mario and Sara walked in with their
2 kids. Though Sara had been coming on Wednesday nights, it was his first time.
They had gotten back together which was
a big step but they need to get married and hopefully then get baptized. We will miss studying with them this week
because we missed Sara today and will have the classes tomorrow still it was
good news that they had gotten back together.
I took them home even though they had walked up because of Mario's leg
and also because we still had the food in the car that we were going to give to
Sara in the afternoon. When we got home
there was picture of our son, Clifton in a suit that he had to wear today for a
class presentation. He looked pretty
sharp. Overall a good ending to the day.
