Today we had our Monday meeting with Ricardo, Carlos and Cesar on
Tuesday because of the classes in the schools.
It was a good meeting. We planned
the party for each school to finish the English and morals classes next week
and we talked about the next event for Juayua and Salcoatitan. Ricardo suggested we have a breakfast just
for the ladies of the community. Carlos
said he would rather it be for the whole family in Salcoatitan but we decided
it would be good if it were just ladies here in Juayua. We are having the last English and values
classes next Thursday Dec. 17th. In both schools. We are going to combine the classes for the
last 30 minutes and have refreshments at each place and in Juayua we are going
to give out the certificates of class completion at this little party. In Salcoatitan there are some other summer
classes and the director there wants to have a combined party for all the
students and give out the certificates for Salcoatitan at that time. So that will be on Friday Dec. 18th. Then on Saturday morning, Dec. 19th.
We will have the breakfast in Salcoatitan.
Then on Monday Dec. 21st. We will have our breakfast event
for the ladies here in Juayua. The next
day we will hold the event we had here in November for ladies and children in
Turin in the afternoon. Then we will
have our regular week of activities here in Juayua and cap it all off with an
end of the year dinner for our team at the home of Ricardo and Joli on Sunday
Dec. 27th. Then on Wednesday
December30th. We move into our new house.
And on Sunday Jan. 3rd. Services begin in Salcoatitan. It was decided they would meet at 4 pm on
Sundays at least for the first while and their midweek service will be on Thursday
night. This will make Sundays much
better for us than if they meet in the morning before our service and we should
also be able to attend there on Thursday nights. That will mean that the only night we do not
have a study at someone's home or in our home or do not have a service will be
on Friday nights. Surely we can find
something to have on that one night.
Ha. After lunch Charlotte went
with Zuleyma and Arnoldo to study with the lady who we had visited Saturday
morning but was busy then. They also
went to visit a lady who lives across the street from Zuleyma. I stayed at home because we had received a Facebook
message from Bro. Mario Lara that he and his wife were ready to talk with the
landlord of our house about moving in when we move out at the end of Dec. They arrived just before 2 and we rode down
to the hardware. Don Santos was very
gracious as always, he said thought he did not know them that he knew me and
that was good enough for him and they came to an agreement in about 10
min. Then we went around to the
restaurant where his family was waiting because they had some people with them
who had not seen the house yet and wanted to.
After they left and Charlotte came back we dropped Zuleyma, Arnoldo and
Elizabeth off at Regina’s house and Charlotte had her study with Socorro. They studied baptism and Socorro said she
would need to think about it this week.
I went from Socorro’s down to the place where we had seen a sign for a
veterinarian. Wicket has had problems
with her ears since we got her and the medicines I have been able to find have
not helped much and she whines and scratches a lot. It was a small cluttered (junky) room and he
laid a board on a chair for me to set her up on and used a simple magnifying
glass to look in her ears. He said they
did not have the ear mites here which amazes me and said she has an ear
infection. He gave me some drops for her
ears and then he gave her a shot for pain and charged $10.00 He also recommended a special soap he wanted
$5.00 for and I bought it at a corner vet supply for $3.50. We will see how she does. I walked by the new house and told the new
landlords we had decided to use our refrigerator and stove and ask if they
could store theirs and they said that was fine.
She showed me the inside of the house.
They had pretty much moved everything out and finished all the
painting. It looked good but bare. I think our small furnishings are going to be
somewhat lost in the much larger spaces until we get used to it. I walked on home and Charlotte arrived about
5. We skyped a while with Leanna while
Charlotte was making dinner, she had gotten some good news about her grades and
finals and was really happy. About 6 our
landlord, his wife and son arrived for their weekly study. We are going through a film series on the
history of the Bible and afterward we had a good discussion and some carrot
cake Charlotte had made for her birthday.
Just before they left the lady saw a scorpion crawling across our living
room floor. Charlotte said she hoped we
survived until we move. We shall
see.
Felicdades Charlotte!
