Day of
blessings. It is amazing when we can
open God’s Word and share with people. This was one of those days. First, we had our regular studies, expect
that Mr. Rivas was out. As we were going
to Julia’s we realized we meant to go to a new area first. We had passed by on Saturday and scheduled a
study for Wednesday morning. When we
arrived in the area, the scheduled study, Wendy, was busy, so we went next door
to Reina’s. I had one previous study
with her with Zuleyma, but she had been out on Saturday. Reina had stayed home from working in the
coffee fields to watch her grandchildren today.
Cesar asked if I would like to lead the study, since I had done the
first one. So, we studied Acts 8 about Philip
and the Eunuch. It went well and she
said that we could come back for further studies. When we finished, Wendy was available, so we
stopped by for a study with her. She
also said that we could return again.
Wendy is expecting her first child in February. It is exciting to see her desire to study God’s
Word. She does not have a Bible, so we
told her we would bring one Saturday for another study. On our way down from the community, we passed
a lady with young children. She stopped
us to ask when we would have another event.
She had visited our community event and was looking for another time
together. We told her our next date and
said we would drop by when we had a place confirmed. For lunch, we all came back to our
house. Eliza was out of town, so Cesar
ate with us, along with Arnoldo. After
lunch we headed for our visit with Ana.
This was a special visit because she had told us that she had trouble
seeing her Bible. She owns glasses and
can read, so Dwaine and I had ran across a large print Bible in San Salvador
last week. I wrote a dedication and we
presented it. It is a little heavy to
hold because of her arthritis, but it was easy to lay in her lap. She read some of the verses with us. What a blessing! Next we went to visit with Sara and
Mario. Mario was home, but Sara was
working in the coffee fields. Mario was
watching their little girl while she was working. We talked with him about all the changes in
their lives and he was eager to keep studying.
This week was Sara’s long day at the field, so they would not be able to
visit the Wednesday study. Afterwards, we went by the Mayor’s office to see if
we could reserve the community center closest to our area for our next event on
Monday, the 21st for a breakfast for ladies. The lady said that it was open, but we needed
to bring a letter by requesting the need.
So Cesar said he would type that up and they could drop it by the next
morning. We had stopped by Kelly’s to
see if she could come to service, but she had a dinner with Nicole and doubted
it would be done. We headed home to
check if she was back, but she was not.
After a short time, we headed to the service and we covered the five
love languages in our marriage class. We
only have one more class in this series.
After class, Raul had brought a birthday cake for Ana. He had wanted to surprise her on her actual
birthday with a cake. It was such a
great time of fellowship. On the way
home, we drove by the park and took some photos of all the Christmas
lights. It was really pretty at
night. When we got home, we realized we
had not eaten dinner before the ‘cake.’
So we ate light. It remains a
challenge to get the preparations for the English classes. So, I stayed up to midnight working on this
project.
Let sleeping dogs lie during this study.
