Great study, missing in action and night of prayer. Dwaine and I went our separate ways. Dwaine and Cesar went to hand out the last of
the invitations for our breakfast for the ladies for Monday morning. They also went to our regular studies. Mr. Rivas was out and would not be back in
time for the evening service. Delmy
studied and said her granddaughter had pneumonia. Dwaine said she seemed a little distracted at
first, but as the study developed, she seemed to focus on the topic because it
was something that she had questions about.
Next, they stopped by Julia’s but only to say hello. I left out at the same time with Suleyma
because we wanted to study with Wendy.
Even though the distance was short, we drove so Suleyma would not have to
carry Danielito so much. Wendy was so
eager to study! It was exciting to see
her interest. She had some specific
questions and we also had a planned study.
She wants to come to church with her husband. He was working, so she said that she would
talk with him and then pass by our house before Sunday. We are praying this will be a go. They are not regularly visiting a church and
neither have been baptized. Since she is
due in February with their first child, we talked a lot about bringing this new
baby up in the Lord. We have not met her
husband and we are prayerful he will have an interest too. Afterwards, I asked if Suleyma had time to go
by and visit Socorro. It had been out of
character of her not to be at her hostel on Tuesday for our study, so I wanted
to check on her. Sure enough, she had
fallen on Monday and broken her arm. She
had been at the doctor all day on Tuesday so she could not call me. It was her right arm and she is right
handed. She will have to go back to the
doctor in January and hopefully we can take her to Sonsonate. She still wanted to come to our breakfast, so
we will plan to pick her up, along with Regina.
Time to serve again. She is in
her 70’s and was so cheerful and laughing with us. I know she was in pain and has lots of
concerns. Keep her in your prayers. After lunch, we kept our regular visits. The first was sister Ana and she was in one
of the best spirits we had seen her in for a long time. She read some verses out loud from her new
Bible and she sang along with all the songs.
That was a blessing. Next we went
to visit Mario. Sara was working. He is optimistic about becoming a Christian,
but he still has some things he needs to do before finalizing that
decision. Dwaine and Cesar had passed an
empty house in their door knocking so we tracked down someone who had some
details. The owner is out, but will be
in town on Saturday, so we plan to go by and talk then. It is in the area where we have so many
contacts. Next, Dwaine and I had out last
class on marriage. We talked about the
spiritual goals for a marriage, using the book, The Sacred Marriage. It was a nice wrap-up and we took some cake
to share afterwards. Through the day,
Leanna had not been feeling well and when we got home, we all talked and she
decided to go to the emergency room. She
was having trouble with feeling in her hands and feet and some in her face and
we thought it might have been a result of a fall she had some time back or a
side effect of a medication she was taking.
Not being there is hard during a time like this. Christina met her and stayed with her until
about 4 a.m. Her tests came back good,
but they wanted to keep her one more day.
They decided to possibly just follow-up with a neurologist soon as the
doctor in the ER suggested. It sure made
for a long night for everyone. I stayed
up until about 3 working on English for our last day of classes on Thursday and
finally rested with the computer beside me.
By then, she had her main tests results.
We ask for prayers for Leanna. We
are blessed to have children that help each other and we pray for their rest
too, especially Christina.
Leanna smiling at ER so mom and dad won't worry so much.
