Kelly had told me to take the mustard tea for
three days, but I opted out of the last day.
Monday night I had told Dwaine that I would have to get better to die my
stomach hurt so much. It did improve by
Tuesday morning and for the first time in a long time, I had a little
energy. So, we took advantage of
situation and went on a study to Armando and Mercedes. While they were both there, Mercedes had
company and we could not interrupt her time with her friend. We visited with Armando, but did not
study. They are strongly Catholic and I
guess at some point one must decide when to move on to another study. When that point comes, we are trying hard to
leave open doors and still drop by to say hello. In reality, we have not gotten them both home
and ready to study in many weeks, so maybe that time has come. We are praying about it. Since we only visited we had a little time
leftover, so we went by Evelia’s and Jose’s.
Evelia was still in the bed and Jose said it was best to visit her in
the afternoons. Dwaine had left a book, “Que
Dice la Biblia” and he was on lesson 4.
He said he was reading though it and then wanted to go back and look at
some of the references and questions.
So, he wasn’t ready to discuss it yet.
At lunch, I didn’t rest, but Dwaine seemed to be feeling a little worse
with a tummy ache. It is hard for him to
slow down though and rest. After lunch,
I picked up Seily and Regina and we went to Sister Ana’s. All the girls were there except Sonja, so we
had a good study in I Peter and then Seily gave us a lesson on reading and
writing. Since all the girls want to
learn that, it is a good motivation for them to be there. Seily had made a layered board from poster
paper to put letters and combos in for spelling and it was really neat and
handy. We were all laughing and working
hard until time got away from us. As we
left, Dwaine called worried about us for it was at least 5:30. He said he thought he might try to go to one
of the weekly meetings in Salcoatitan that Ricardo was going to teach. I said I could meet them soon and we could
all go together. I had met Kelly and
Nicole along the way and she had gone into the market and I was waiting to give
her a ride home. They arrived quickly
and Dwaine and I met up with Cesar, Eliza and Abi and we headed to
Salcoatitan. Ricardo had a great lesson
on service and it was a good change up to get to visit. Now how did we manage to go on a Tuesday night? Dwaine had stopped by Don Santos work and he
said he had an event to go to and he was responsible for taking tamales. He asked if he could come by our house at
8:30 for his study. We said that would
be great and that is how we had time to go to Salcoatitan. When we dropped Cesar and Eliza off, we
realized that Don Santos was just next door.
A crippled lady lives next to Cesar and their event was there. He often visits there, so maybe it was a
birthday. Anyway, I thought I would cook
and we could eat in that hour and about the moment it was ready, Don Santos and
Jimmy arrived. Clifton said he sure was
hungry. With a study, we could go on ‘til
9 or 10. But, after 30 minutes of
visiting, he said it was actually time to serve the tamales, so he had to return. So, we ate about 8:30, but we hate we didn’t
actually get to study.
