Friday started with “Happy Father’s Day!” Well, it is Father’s Day in El Salvador and
schools were out! We had an early study
with Celia. She has had difficulties in
her family recently, so we have not been as regular in our studies. Her grandson had some gang association and was
put in jail. She said he should be out
in at least 6 months, but it has been very difficult for the family. They must pay for his daily meals and it has
been a challenge to get that to them since he is some distance away. Celia is Morman and we have share a lot of
foundational passage with her. We are
beginning to move into some more challenging verses. We wanted to do this along with her daughter,
but she has not been home during their hard times. We went ahead and started, and plan to repeat
the study when her daughter is available.
She had some really great questions and listened intently. She cannot read, but her daughter can. So they can reread the verses on their
time. We are moving slow on this
study. Celia is always eager to visit
with us and study when she does not have conflicts, so keep her in your
prayers. After lunch I went back up to
study with Angelica. Earlier in the week
she said she may be out, and she was.
So, I headed back home. We had
invited Mario and Sara for dinner and they arrived a few minutes after 6. They had missed the first New Converts class,
so we redid the lesson for them. They
have a very difficult time coming to church on Sunday because Sara works. She said if she asks off on the weekend, they
dock her two days…which is net $3 and some change each day. Mario tries to visit his mother’s in hopes of
leading tours to the waterfalls. They
come regularly on Wednesday, so we are prayerful that things will open for them
to come regularly.
This car was covered in post-it-notes with notes of love for Father's Day.
Dwaine got a card from the States....brought by Clifton!
We won't say our family is a bunch of monkeys....
A replacement 'bacon wallet....' as even the Selectos workers asked Dwaine, is that bacon.
Caleb gave him the first and it needs a retirement party.
