June 19, 2016

Not so good and so good.  You know Dwaine is sick when he doesn’t go to church.  He helped take people to church this morning, but went back home.  This stomach virus is something else.  The service went smooth and Clifton did the Lord’s service.  He did and good job and got lots of compliments.  Paulo and Xochil came from Ahuachapán to visit and Clifton took them out to the Gastronomica afterwards.  Juayua is famous for this and they streets closed on the weekends to set up outdoor restaurants.  It is a big tourist attraction.  They did talk about getting together for a ‘game day,’ but didn’t set up a day yet.  Dwaine was a little better through the afternoon, so he decided to go to Salcoatitan for their service.  On the way in, we passed a man selling some birds.  It was close to the building, so Dwaine walked down to see what they were.  He came back to say there was a pretty love bird and they were asking $35 for it.  We has heard this price before, so we thought it was good.  Between Clifton, Dwaine and me, we gathering up $27 and Dwaine went back and ‘insisted’ the man take that for the bird.  He finally did.  Its wings were cut so he put the bird in the trunk.  It is really pretty, especially with a lot of yellow.  We got some food on the way home and found a box for it.  It is very social.  We looked at names and thought of two.  One was ‘Miss Kitty’ because I wanted a kitty and this may have been a cat diversion on Dwaine’s part.  Second was ‘Luxo’ because Linda said if she had bought it, she would only have paid $8.  Luxo is short for luxurious.  I doubt those will ‘fly’ but they are under consideration.  Wicket was quite inquisitive and somewhat jealous.  At first she stood on her hind feet for about a minute to investigate.  We are certain that she would gulp it down if given the chance, but we hope we can watch them together.  The bird wants to be in a lap or climbing a leg when it is in.  We have no idea of the sex or age, but they can live 10 to 15 years….at least that what the internet says and we all know if the internet says it, it must be true.

New Addition to the Family
