Swap about.
I was continuing to improve, mainly left with a tummy ache. However, Dwaine was beginning to get
worse. He so rarely is sick, it is hard
for him to slow down. So, he kept right
on going all day. Clifton was also
getting some better too. Because Ricardo and Yoli and Carlos and Linda were
helping with the national event, Clifton was not going to work. At the ladies’ meeting Yoli and Linda had
asked to borrow our coffee pot, and they forgot to take it with them. Ricardo and Yoli only live about 10 minutes
away, so Dwaine was going to take the coffee pot to them about 8. We knew our odometer said we had about 26
miles left to go, but for the second time, when it got down to that point in
the count down it skips a few and goes straight to ‘0.’ So, fortunately, the service station that was
near the house was open at 7 and Dwaine got some gas. It is more expensive in Juayua, so we never
get very much in case we make any kind of trip and can find it cheaper. Afterwards, I went to study with Floramarina
and Claudia. Floramarina was not home, but Claudia was there. We studied about baptism. Between my being sick for a few weeks and her
being out of pocket a couple of weeks, it had been some time since we had
studied. So, it was good that she was
there and ready to study. She did not
make in commitments after the study, but she is willing to continue our
studies. I walked to Tatiana’s, but she
and her grandmother had gone to Sonsonate.
So, Regina, who had come with me, and I talked for a while. It was a good visit. For the afternoon, we had planned a study
with Omar, Isela, Emily and their mother, Xiomara. Unfortunately, only Omar and Emily were
home. So, we picked up on our World
Bible School study in English.
Hopefully, we can get everyone together soon, so we can study some
specific questions they have on baptism.
We are in prayer about this.
Since out study was not too long, we took a diversion to Saritas….yes,
that is short for the best ice cream in El Salvador. When we moved here, we were sad that they did
not have a Saritas here. Although,
honestly, we only went twice in Ataco and that was when family was in
town. But, it was still good to have one
here and it is only a few blocks from our house. So, Clifton ordered a float, but they had no
coke, only strawberry soda that was really sweet. Dwaine got a shake and I got a scoop of ice
cream. They didn’t look fully stocked
yet, but it was great to have them open.
For Dwaine and me, it was too early for ice cream….tummy aches
again. Afterwards, we headed home for
some final cleaning. The Bible study was
going to be at our house. I had fixed
two pans of layered desserts. I had
brought back a few boxes and of instant pudding and I decided I would use them
up. Seily had looked for a pudding mix
for me at Selectos and she found some and sent me a pic. But, when I went to by, I decided there must
have been a run on pudding for it was no more.
Well, I tell myself, it was the old fashioned, stove-top type. One can make it from scratch about as
easily. Mario got stuck in traffic
coming from San Salvador, so he was a little late. He was teaching so we sand a couple of extra
songs. It was raining pretty hard, but we
still had about 25 people.
Unfortunately, Socorro was sick, so she didn’t come. But, Don Santos came. He said that he would not come because he had
to go to Sonsonate. His plans changed
and he come on to the study. That was
good. It was a nice study. Many had hosted the study since our last time
to host and that was good it had not rolled around so quickly with our
infirmities.
Nice Visitor at the Church Building
Some real excitement here for Saritas!
