June 9, 2016

Pouring rain, but not a wash out.  For me, Thursday was a difficult day because of course….relapse!  I am into a month of feeling bad and it just not seem to want to go away.  For the morning, I went to study with Claudia and Floramarina, but Floramarina had gone to do some buying for her store and Claudia had gone to the early school time.  So, the bottom line, I missed them again.  It has been awhile since we studied and I know we have lost some of the momentum with them. Tatiana was home and we had a great study.  Clifton is now sick too, so he did not go with me.  Everyone was sick at Regina’s home too, so I just went alone.  I rested through lunch and then the afternoon Omar and his mother, Ciomara came for a study.  We studied for a few hours and they did share they were not going to the church where they had previously gone, and they wanted to study and visit with us.  They have a small business that sells chocolate covered fruits and plants.  Omar is quite the botanist.  Of course, their business is mostly on the weekend.  They said they wanted to have spiritual priority and close their business on Sunday morning to come to church, Omar, Ciomara, Isela and Emily.  Please realize this is a huge sacrifice on their parts.  They said they may make $40 each weekend day and that would be all for the week.  That is without rain.  And, that is without expenses.  It was a humbling sacrifice for them to be willing to make.  After the study, we had about an hour before the evening Bible study.  It was pouring rain.  We were supposed to meet at Ana and Raul’s home and it had been some time since we had met there.  I guess, here, we must admit….”Oh, ye of little faith.”  We thought the turnout would be small in the pouring rain.  We picked up who we could, but we were outside the door waiting for the door to be unlocked and people just kept coming and coming, sick and in the pouring rain.  It was amazing.  Humbled again.  In the end there were about 23 people and a porch full of children.  We just stay humbled on every hand!  God is greater that ourselves and He is very busy working in lives here in Juayua….including our own.  Clifton didn’t make it to the service because he was really dizzy with fever.  Keep him in your prayers.  He did miss Kiki showing up in an Auburn sweatshirt!  We are blessed to be growing.

Go Auburn Kiki!
