A new brother, Omar! A new sister, Emile! Two new members, Xiomara and Isela! Dwaine started filling the pool at 5 and we
had good water pressure and it was full about 6:30. People started arriving about 6:45. It was a small group because of the early
hour and because of the short notice.
But, it was a big celebration! We
want to say this was a contact that was last year’s campaign. Isela said that she had been the one to see
the English notice. It is so exciting to
see the fruit of that campaign. Mario and
Sara had been contacts by door knocking and now a family coming to faith and
action through the English class. This
is a tremendous blessing for Central’s involvement here in Juayua and El
Salvador. After the baptisms, Dwaine and
Clifton left for the preacher’s meeting.
I had originally planned to study with Kelly and Nicole, but we changed
to Saturday because they had a conflict.
However, their family was planning to come to dinner. So, I cooked for the morning. Dwaine got back at 2 and I headed to Seily’s. We had a study set up and some visits we
wanted to make. First, we went to
Angelia’s. A neighbor came out to meet
us and said that Angelia had given birth to a boy, Lucas Mateo by caesarian. She was early, but thankfully all was
well. Next, we walked over to Erlinda’s. She is the lady who had lost her husband
recently and she has shown some interest in coming. A long time ago I had given her a Bible for
her grandson, knowing that they went to another church. She said that her church was far away and we
were close. We were always friendly when
she came to anything….a few ladies’ events and Danielito’s birthday party. She said the two of them would be at church
Sunday. I am prayerful this will
happen! Next, we walked over to Briseida’s. Her gate has been locked for almost two weeks
now. We are really worried about her
little girl. She is about 6 to 8 months
old, and last we saw her, she had come down with the Juayua stomach flu
virus. We are hopeful she might be
staying with her mom during this time and all is okay. Finally, we walked down to Reina’s because
she had been out on Monday. But, she was
not home….all locked. I got home about
4 and rested a few minutes and finished cooking. Dwaine went up to get the family and arrived
back with only Kelly and Kiki. Nicole
was sick with upset stomach. About the
time they arrived there was another knock on the door. Jose and Nicole came in in a taxi as she felt
a little better, although not much.
After dinner, we had a Bible study repeat from the New Convert’s
class. Kelly’s sister had had surgery on
Sunday, so they had missed Monday. She was
doing good. They needed to be home by 9,
but it was pouring rain!!! That gave us enough time to enjoy some warm peach
cobbler with whipped cream topping….yummy! Finally, it slacked a little about
9:15, so Dwaine took them home.
