Service of thanks! First, Clifton and I went to Claudia’s, but
she had to go the clinic with a family member. Her sister-in-law said that Claudia did not
want to go because she wanted to stay for the study. I told Ana that I would try again on Friday morning
so we wouldn’t miss a week. Next, we
walked down to Tatiana’s. Both Tatiana
and Rudy joined us. Rudy is fairly young, but he wanted to sit in on the
study. Since we had a little extra time,
we walked up to Kelly and Nicole’s to study with Nicole for about an hour. Kelly was doing a pedicure. She has offered to do that for me and maybe I
can take her up on it after the campaignJ.
After lunch Ana and George, Sister Ana’s son and daughter-in-law, came
for their first study together. We
talked about seeking God and we were thankful that they both could come. George, had some hesitation, so we were
particularly excited about their visit. I
mentioned how thankful I was that when I visited Nelson and Isela were singing
the books of the Bible song. They just
laughed and said they were singing it all night long! We had a car load for our weekly Bible study
and this was a special study. Carolina
had asked us to have a service of thanks during this study for her
brother. She said that he had given in
to worldly temptations for 5 years and he was returning to the family now. Sister Ana’s family wanted to honor his
decision and serve some extra snacks.
They also wanted to ‘host’ the event, so we decided to meet at the
building for this. They would not have
room at their home. So, they made
sandwiches and I made some bread, cookies and coffee. It was a nice time of fellowship. However, during this time, a torrential rain
storm hit and the noise was really loud and we have a few leaks at the
building. Afterwards, Cesar, Mario and
Dwaine each made two trips out to take people home since the weather was so
bad. Other than the weather, the time
together to celebrate was nice! I did
take my camera, but I realized that my memory card was in the computer. So….no picturesL.
Omar, Gisela, Emily and Xiomara were supposed to come over after this
event for a study. Omar was very sick,
so they rescheduled. He had been in bed
all day, but did go to the service. Hopefully,
he didn’t expose anyone and we will be back on track soon.
