Celebrations!
First, Dwaine had worked to get some baptism certificates ready for
Sunday. We wanted to honor the 9 recent
people who had been baptized with a certificate and we were ready with
those. I had cooked two cakes the
previous night because we also wanted to celebrate birthdays for July, August
and September. Before leaving the house,
I was supposed to have a study with Carolina at 8:30, but she did not
come. She is always very punctual, so I
knew something must have come up. Later
she told me that Ana did not have anyone to look after her, so she had needed
to stay and help her. So, Dwaine took
Clifton and me to the building early and he left to go pick up Ana and her
family. The ceremony to have certificates
was a nice event and everyone seemed appreciative. Afterwards, Jose Manual, who was baptized
last June asked if we could also prepare one for him. His wife, Rosalydia, was
baptized before we came and we thought we would try to include her as well. So, we thought we could also try to get the
date for her baptism and get those ready for next Sunday. Birthday eats went well and we just barely
had enough because we had over 50 people there!
That is growing pains! We are
thankful for this growth. For the
afternoon, Dwaine met Jose Manual at the building and he cut out half of our
pila top to serve as a baptistery. When
he is finished, he will also paint the pila.
He said it would be very easy to put back into place when we move. Next, we left for the service for
Salcoatitan. We had more children than
usual so we know they are growing too!
It is exciting times.
