July 2, 2016

Day out.  Kelly and Nicole decided to forego Nicole’s study this morning since she was sick with a stomach virus.  We had planned to go to Sonsonate for the morning, so we left out early.  We mostly were trying to find things for the group coming soon.  First, we hit up Dollar City for general things and yes, it is a lot like Dollar General or a very small Wal Mart.  There are definitely things you cannot find in Juayua, especially craft and cooking utensil items.  Next, we visited Freund, Vidri, curb market, Curasol, and Omni.  We were looking for a larger microwave. I have wanted to put one in the building and since we can use both for the group it was a good time.  We finally decided on one at the first store.  First we ate at the mall and then Dwaine let Clifton and I off at Selectos and he walked back across the street to Freund for the $129 model.  He said he really underestimated the weight and he had shaky legs by the time he crossed the road and made it to the car.  Selectos went well, but just about let out a scream when I got to frozen foods.  For the first time since arriving, I saw hash browns, frozen waffles and pancakes.  Not that I am such a big fan of the frozen b’fast foods, the hash browns were a temptation.  One item was on sale so I got that for the group, but we only brought one cooler, so I didn’t overdo it.  To think, I have been hand chopping French fries all week to have some hash browns for a recipe!  I wanted to cry.  We thought we would be home by 1, but of course, we were late…almost 1:50 getting back.  Clifton had an event for teens at 2, so he was pushed.  They were traveling to a park about 30 minutes away in another town.  He was driving and said it was quite a rough road.  They had to get out and push Cesar’s car sometimes to get him over a mound in the road.  At first the event had started out being Juayua and Salcoatitan, but grew to include several surrounding groups.  There were about 30 teens in attendance and several new members and visitors.  So, that was great.  He got home about 6.  I worked on birthday cakes….two tres leches cakes for church tomorrow and Dwaine went to the building to clean.  After dinner, we called it a night before too late.
