A rockin’
rollin’ Thanksgiving! A happy one to you
and your families. We celebrate God’s
graciousness in our lives and our physical and spiritual families
worldwide. We celebrated with a 7.2
earthquake! It was amazing, esp. since
it was just offshore and no damage. We
get ‘tremors’ all along, but this one did not stop and got increasingly
stronger. The lights were really swaying
and water on the counter was moving.
Then, form our view, we could see the roof of the house moving too. For the first time, I was wondering if we
should go outside, but out our open door is the wall to a two story house. So, I was thinking it might be better
inside. Well, it did go on for a full
minute, which is long, but all was good.
Then we got word that we have a hurricane….Otto, on the way for the next
day or two. It was primarily hitting
Nicaragua and only expecting some rain.
It is already windy season, so we don’t expect much different affect. We are
thankful it was not bad. We did get to
talk to our family. Caleb and Della and
Charlotte hosted a nice looking meal with Clifton, Leanna, Christina, Della’s mom and brother,
and my dad, stepmom and stepsister. It
looked like a great crowd. Dwaine and I
did some doorknocking for invitations for the summer course. Dwaine had one study for the early afternoon
with Mauricio, but he only had 20 minutes.
Then, at 3:30, we went on to Blanca’s with Emilet, but she was too busy
too. It seems that the soil with thorns
is in order for the day. For the evening
we had a good turnout at Regina’s for our study on Matthew….ch. 27
tonight. We were especially excited that
Mario, Idalia and Jennifer came again.
We sure had a car full from Sister Ana’s. It was so full that Jorge and a young man,
Giovani, walked home. They decided to
take a shortcut and run and they were waiting to greet us when we arrived….but
a little out of breath. We all got a
good laugh out of that!
