All the
visitors from the States, Jim, David, Butch and Matt had plans to visit several
preachers through the day so Dwaine took Jim to Hector's during the
morning. Kelly and Nicole usually come
on Friday, but we were uncertain on plans, so I had rescheduled my studies for
the day. I worked on my lesson for
Saturday’s ladies’ event. The devotional part is only 35 to 40 minutes so every
word counts. It seemed I had several
interruptions, but all good. Alba came
by and I was excited for her visit. We
talked about some upcoming events in her life, her husband, Marcos’ birthday,
her girl’s birthday, a visit to her work and setting up some one on one study
time. She brought some lychees and we go
back to China on that fruit. Yummy. I also did some cooking on some birthday
cakes and dishes for our Friday night gathering with the group. After lunch Dwaine had a study with Mauricio
at his business. Now that school is out,
we are hopeful that he will have more time available for study. At 2:30 Cesar
and Nelson arrived for their study. Cesar
shared some great news. Miguel expressed
a desire to be baptized. Cesar and
Dwaine have studied with him for a long time.
He is the son of Delmy, who was one of our first contacts from door
knocking. He is wrapping up final exams
and wanted to have one more study, so we will be looking at next Wednesday. He has a desire to be baptized in a river, so
we will see where that might be available.
Dwaine returned about 3. When
they finished up, we headed to Hector and Rachel’s for a night of fellowship and
meetings. As a side note, buuuurrrr….it
was one of the coldest nights we have had and Rachel kept hunting down coats for
everyone. We were outside and the wind was
bringing in some cold air. That is not
so common here, but Apaneca is more elevated and therefore cooler. We wrapped up after 9 and came home to work
on lesson again for me……So I stayed up to 3:30 and got up a little after 4:30
to wrap that up. I always think there
will be visitors and I wrestle with every word and Power Point slide to be sure
it is from God’s Word and that his message will touch their hearts. We have had so many big events, I knew that
time would be limited. I was thankful to
finish the lesson, except for touchups.
