Visits and
preparation. Dwaine and Jim went out to
visit with Jose and Kelly and Nicole came here to help me in preparation for
the afternoon. First, they helped me
make cupcakes with the ‘good soil’ theme.
Second, they helped get the craft ready.
Kelly came up with a really cute idea of making a small planter with
toilet paper rolls. With everything in
place, they headed out and I did a final organization of my lesson on the Parable
of the Sower. After lunch, Dwaine and
Jim went to visit with Omar and his family and they planned a dinner out after
the Ladies’ Event. We got to the
building shortly after 2 and all was in place.
Many had said that we should hold off of a meeting in November and
December because once school is finished, people are busy on graduations and
parties and travels. So our number was a
little smaller but we had about 20ish and about 10 were visitors outside of the
children. The good news is that two
ladies that I am studying with came and we got to visit some. Kelly’s sister and sister-in-law came for the
first time and that was exciting. And,
all of the ladies in Sister Ana’s household came. Many blessings. Gisela was MC for the first time and she
prepared some special verses for that.
We had also gotten some plants for door prizes and everyone loved
those. Thanks to Omar for that
contribution. Kelly did a great job on
the craft and I think everyone stayed for that.
We finished up about 5:30. At
6:30 we met Xiomara, Omar, Gisela and Emilet at Ranitas for dinner. It was a great time together and afterwards
we came by for some lemon cake for dessert.
We called it a night before too late and I went to bed pretty quick when
all were gone.
